"Fantastic location and breakfast"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We stayed here in January 2011 - great location by Parque Centrale. Recommend you request a room on a higher floor with view of the Park.

"quality in perfect location"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The Parque Central is a really lovely hotel in the centre of Old Havana. Central location and you can stroll back for a dip in the rooftop pool between sightseeing forays. Rooftop also has hot tub, very tasty bar food, good cocktails (but not cheap) - grab long cold drink and watch the sunset. The lobby and bar area are opulent and welcoming; the El Portico bar serving some of the best mojitos we tasted – sweet and lemony. The rooms are comfortable and well furnished with excellent air-conditioning. Staff friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Wireless internet in old building, not cheap but a fast connection (by Cuban standards). Hotel staff very helpful, very friendly; nothing too much trouble. The breakfast buffet is excellent with a huge choice offering almost anything you could imagine including champagne. I even queued behind one guest who ordered omelette without yokes and watched the chef hand separate eight eggs for her

"The best hotel in Havana"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Stayed in this hotel in September 2010, Our flight arrived at around 4pm and got to the hotel just after 5pm. Since there were so many people traveled on the same flight waiting for check in as well, there was a long long wait. However the hotel staff offered us free orange juice, so that was fine.
We stayed in the new building of the hotel on the 5th floor. The room size is good and you have a balcony as well. The room is also very clean.
There are about 4 different restaurant in the hotel and they are all great. A bit expensive for the cuban standard but then you can not really compare with the local cubans while they earn less then £15 a month. The steak restaurant the the most expensive restaurant but it is also the best restaurant. We paid around £30 each but it was the best steak that I ever had.
The hotel is located right in the central of havana beside central park. and only a stone throw from the capital building. There are taxis waiting all the time but you can also walk across the road to get the coco taxi for a few dollar less.
We enjoyed the stay in this hotel.

"NH Parque Central"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This was my first trip to Cuba and after reading lots about the type of food and service I may receive I wasn't expecting the best. I think when it comes to Cuba you have to soak up the atmosphere and then everything else just don't expect too much! As for this hotel, as expected the location is just perfect for exploring the old town and all the sights, everything is within walking distance. Just be prepared for a bit of hassle when you walk out of the hotel, from people begging, trying to invite you to salsa festival that doesn't exist, then to the usual people trying to get you in their horse and cart.

"NH Parque Central"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We stayed in this hotel for a few days before heading to the beach and I cant say we were disappointed. I would make the following points:
Service - Excellent all round from the the reception staff and the waiters. Room - Large, clean, comfortable and had an excellent view of the square. Also it had a good bathroom. Food - The dinners were basic but the breafasts were fantastic, catering for all tastes including made to order omelettes. Location - Right on one of the main squares and near enough most of the things I would say that you would want to see in Havana. Facilities - I didnt try many of these but the roof top pool was excellent and had a great view.

"Good location!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This is a great hotel in Havana (a) because it is close to the Capital Building and the old town, which are both a stroll just outside the hotel. The hotel itself is of a high standard for Cuba, where standards are generally lower but this hotel is as good as it gets. The hotel restaurants are quite expensive and you'll do much better to take a walk to the old town area where there are some good and much cheaper options.
We took an Havana City tour, which was OK but the coach broke down which meant we didn't do as much as we might have. In the end we established that the best bits of the tour were right on our doorstep so we'd have done better to go it alone. It was also quite expensive for what it was.
The tour to the Viñales Value, however, is well worth it and definitely recommended.
The rooms were pretty standard (by western standards), comfortable and pretty clean. By Cuban standards, they were fantastic.
If you do eat in the hotel, try the bar snacks, they are better quality and cheaper than the restaurant, in which I had one of the worst meals I've had in my life and it wasn't cheap.
Nice pool and restaurant on the roof, again, eat there rather than the main restaurant.
All in all I would definitely recommend.

"Great Hotel"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Modern Hotel in a very central location, very accessible for Old Havana. The rooms are very spacious, and the beds are HUGE!! The hotel boasts a swimming pool on the roof, which is on the eighth floor, wonderful views of Havana and The Capitol Building from here.
Breakfast was served in a light and airy breakfast room, plenty of choice. Staff friendly and really couldnt do enough for you. The only downside i found was that the meals and drinks within the hotel were very pricey, even by comparison with other hotels in the area.
The room was clean and fresh, however, the cleaner had nubbed out a ciggie on our balcony floor which sort of took the shine off the cleanliness a bit!
Bonus was the free safe in the room.

"NH Parque Central"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We stayed here for three nights mid June. We had come from Varadero and weren't sure what to expect. I was well impressed with this hotel. We were given a suite as we were on honeymoon which was great so we'd loads of space. The breakfast in this hotel is excellent, spotless clean restaurant, the selection is excellent and the staff are really nice. You don't have to worry about mosquito's in this hotel as there aren't any. The location of the hotel is great and you can walk anywhere from it. Its close to museums, the coast, winding streets etc

"As it says on the tin - well worth extra"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Very central for you to explore the unique Cuban capital. Walk one way for the sea, another for the old town and cobbled streets. A perfect base with decent rooftop pool and very firendly bar staff. Not cheap by Cuban standards but you'd expect that from one of the premier hotels in any city and still not as bad as London. Put the cost in perspective by the fact that any drink is probably as much as the barman earns in a day.
