Just got back from 18 days in Cyprus, the Nestor is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. All the staff, from the Receptionists, to the Bar Staff, to the Maids are brilliant, really helpful and pleasant. Ausie George and Christos are a great double act with Petros and Andreas they make a great team. The hotel is about to start major renovation work on the pool area so can't wait to see what effect that has (surely can't get any better).

We were staying B&B, this allows you the opportunity to try out the many resturants that are close by. If you are partial to a steak then get along to 'Clarabel's' and try the Pepper Steak, best on the planet and very reasonably priced.

Get yourself along to the Nestor you won't regret it.

Back at the hotel, the pool scene takes centre-stage. A big sun terrace surrounds a large L-shaped pool. Little ones have their own shallow end of the pool, too. Rounding things off is a bar that does a good line in snacks and drinks. For more in the way of food, the restaurant comes highly rated by TripAdvisor reviewers. It offers Continental and cooked breakfasts, plus a good range of international dishes in the evenings such as grilled kebabs or giant prawns served with lashings of side salads. And for after-dinner drinks, make your way to the bar – the cocktails her are a big hit with guests. As for the accommodation, rooms are simply styled with white walls and chunky wooden furniture. Plus they’re kitted out with nice-to-haves like air-conditioning and satellite TVs.

a really nice hotel that caters for everyone. all the facilities were spot on and would definatly consider going again.

the only real let down was the food. There was plenty but not a lot of things to choose from.

We have just returned from a fantastic holiday in Ayia Napa, staying at the Nestor hotel.

Couldn't fault the hotel really and the housekeeping was fantastic, rooms cleaned every day with fresh towels.

I just want to recommend the following eating places:
Abacus - best steak I have ever had, Napiana, Napa Star Inn, Castelli, Raven's Rook and Raphaels - this pub is fantastic if you are very hungry, you get loads!!!!
and a great pub to recommend is Liquid, it is great for food and just chilling out.

The Hotel is extremely clean and locationally superb, with a 5 minute walk to the main street and 10-15 mins to the 'square' (a must be seen area of extreme hustle and bustle). The Hotel reception staff do appear a bit stand- offish as opposed to the bar staff who, and in particular, George, were very warm and friendly. We stayed on a HB basis and although there was good variety it did get mundane after about a week and, consequently, we ventured out to the other restaurants that littered the main street. Castilles, Rizzis and Vascos are superb.

Weather was extremely warm with temp rising to 45 which made even walking short distances difficult.

All-in-all, Cyprus is beautiful, the Nestor Hotel, great and the surrounding area, lively - I would certainly recommend.

Could not fault hotel at all. Location is great - 10 mins walk to the busy bars and restaurants, 5 mins to the harbour and beaches. Rooms were clean and spacious (maids changed towels and sheets 3 times in the week and came everyday to clean). We stayed BandB and it was very good - full english, omlettes made to order, fruit, toast, cereals, danish pastries and continental. Staff very helpful and friendly especially bar staff.

Too many restaurants to comment on but Tony's along Nissi Avenue was extremely good and the Limelight (near bar street). Also, the bakery near the Hotel is very good if you want a cake and coffee in the afternoon!

Hotel was very clean and fixtures and fittings very nice, the public areas are tiled including the corridors outside the lifts and then recert to carpet which looked in good condition, unusually the bedrooms were also carpeted and the soft furnishings were in good order. Bedrooms all had a balcony and we were pool facing which was lovely, there was a TV and a small fridge which can be unlocked and used for your own supplies at a charge. Lighting could have been better as it was quite a dark room with little adequate lighting available. Bathroom was small but functional and the shower very powerful and always hot water available.

All in all the bedrooms were a good size and one of the largest I've encountered in Napa hotels. The bar and public areas were very clean as was the enormous pool area (very big pool !) Bar did happy hour from 7.00 - 8.00 every evening where it was buy 1 cocktail get one free (be aware it has to be 2 of the same cocktails !)

Food was a buffet affair as is the norm in Cyprus hotels. We were on half board as we got an excellent deal compared to BandB only. Breakfats was okay and there was good choice of food including, continental type breakfasts, fried english, toast and cereals. Coffee and tea available via a machine and the coffee was excellent. Eveneing meal again buffet style but sadly the food left a lot to be desired, the meat all seemed to be of cheap, fatty cuts as was the mincemeat used in the lasagne and bolognese on ";Italian"; night (evenings were themed every night) Much of the food was overcooked and dry and not particularly hot. We only took out evening meal once and didn't return again due to this. We did get a voucher for a lunch due to our late arrival on the first evening which we used and the lunchtime salad bar was very nice but again the hot section was very poor. Not sure if it was due to the fact it was the end of the season but one of our biggest complaints was the fact that a good 10-15 minutes before service was due to end be it breakfast, lunch or dinner the staff started clearing everything away and you literally had to chase them around for supplies if you wanted something else. We couldn't even get another coffee in the morning despite it being 10 minutes before service finished as they disconnected the coffee machine ! Very poor.

Location wise the Nestor is perfect just far enough away from the hubub of the main streets but perfect for the main beach and harbour area.

Staff......mmmm not sure if it was the time of year i.e. end of season and they were disgruntled but they all need to go on a customer relations course ! Dining room staff were without doubt the worst and all were surly and unwelcoming. Reception staff were very polite but not overly friendly except the night porter and the bar staff were indifferent and didn't attempt to get to know us during our stay despite us trying our best.

There was a singer on one evening and she was very good but we didn't see any others during our stay but I'm sure there's more during the height of the season.

I would visit the hotel again but only on a BandB basis regardless of any offers to do half board, their are too many good restaurants anyway in Napa to stay in the hotel every evening aside from the fact the food was of poor quality. Good pool area and nice rooms but best of all and the main reason I'd stay again was the location.

just got back from 2 weeks of sun ,fun whilst we have stay in cyprus befor this was our first time staying in aiya napa and it will not be our last .the nestor was just in the right place close to the beach and harbour and many good pubs and resturants if your need a bit more fun the sqaure is about a 10 min walk.we just could not fault the hotel the maids and all the staff worked very hard our room was cleaned daily fresh beding towels ect .the hotel had many things on offer ie sauna, gym, indoor pool, tennis as the temp was around 35 to 38 everyday we did not make use of these .

on a downside we found the beaches a little dirty 2 years ago we spent a few days on the beaches the one near the harbour you walked out to the sea no problem this year there was a load of stones washed up and in certain places there was sand bags placed on theses so you could get in to the sea.once clear of theses it was ok.everone who writes reviews about this hotel say about the crown next door all we can add to it is what great place it is the staff made us welcome from our first day till we left a big thank you to linda who arranged our fishing trip.another great place is the napa star inn just around the corner which had great entertaintment every night (look out for the drag queens)great show.another place is the queen vic down by the harbour whilst down there check out the fish resturant vascos

all in all we give aiya napa 100%even at our age we did not fill out of place we even walked around the square . cant wait till next year.for more imformation check out this web site we found it a great help in planing our holiday discoveraiyanapa com

hi just thought i would let everyone know how good the nestor hotel in ayia napa,
myself and partner stayed there for 7 nights on a half board basis food was brilliant plenty to choose from they catered for every nationality.
hotel rooms where always kept clean it is the first hotel i have been to that has carpeted rooms apart from the bathroom that is,
well myself and partner spent most days just lazing on the beach getting a tan as you do.

we went on one of the boat cruises we went with happy cruise what cost us £8 in cypriot money,
the actual cruise lasts around 4 1/2 hours they stop in one place so the people on board can have a swim for half an hour then they do the same on the way back.
the actual ayia napa centre on a night was wicked makes you feel young again all the music and all the people give it a good atmosphere.
people who are staying at the nestor hotel be aware that at evening meal that you are not allowed to wear shorts you must wear full length trousers this mainly applies to the blokes.
people who rely on there credit card whilst abroad bit of advice contact your bank to let them know your going away if not there is a set limit on the ammount you can draw each day like i found out.

We were delighted with the Nestor Hotel. It is clean, friendly and close to everything you need. Only 2 min walk to the beach or shops. Nightlife 2 mins (main square 10-15 min walk) Resort suitable for all ages. The main square with the clubs is kept very seperate to other nightlife. The PR's are only in the square. There are loads of lively bars you can go to without entering the square.Castelli restaurant is fab.

The hotel was fully booked during our 2 week stay but we didn't have to get up once to get a sunbed. You can stroll down at 1pm and have no problem....fantastic if you have a late night! The pool was great, very big, plenty of room to swim or laze around on lilo, lovely temperature too.
We stayed bed and breakfast. Lots of choice, fry up, continental, fruit, yoghurt, toast...they even had a chef preparing fried eggs or omlettes fresh for you.

Rooms were cleaned daily and towels changed regulary (if you want linen or towels changed more often you just ask reception and they will organise for you) Bathroom perhaps needed abit of TLC but always clean.
Best 3* hotel i have ever stayed in.

PS. If you want fantastic homemade icecream turn right past Tommy's bar, half way up is an icecream stand run by Pierrick.

Overall I would say this is probably the best hotel we have ever stayed in on holiday overseas and I am extremely fussy. Location is superb, lovely and quiet yet mins away from bustle. We had a sea/pool view room (well worth paying extra for). Hotel/Pool areas spotless. Highly recommended.

My wife and I had previously visited Cyprus In sept 05 and were pleased with the cleanliness and friendliness of the island and therefore booked a family holiday for this year.

The hotel was impecible and was more like a 4 star than a 3. The rooms were always clean and towels and sheets were cleaned every other day. The pool was exetremely clean and there were sunbeds all around so there was no need to get up early to reserve them. The pool bar was great and although the prices weren't cheap they weren't expensive either. The bar staff were fantasticx and very funny. George, George and Christos were particularly friendly and made you feel very welcome. The entertainment in the Dionysos bar happened every night and varied from karaoke, to cyprus dancing, to Elvis Presley. They were all great and had the audience in stitches. The restaurant food was very nice and every is themed eg. Monday - Italian, Tuesday - French, Wednesday - barbecue, etc. It was very tasty and even my 14 year old daughter said she liked the food.

We went to the beach as ewll as the pool. Harbour beach which is very near the hotel was lovely, sandy on the beach and all in the water with hardly any seaweed. We also visited Nissi Beach and Macronissos which were3 both very nice. Nissi beach has this island about 20 feet from the beach which you can walk out to, where there is a brilliant view of the island. Also the watersports there were fantastic and didnt get in the way of the swimmers at all. The town is brilliant with bars, pubs, and restaurants most built fantastically making them look like the Titanic, or the Flintstones, etc. One restaurant which we found was absolutely amazing was the Sage restaurant. It wass very classy with complimentary soup 1st with delicious fresh baked onion, herb bread with a 3 butters (garlic, herb, and olive). The service was brilliant and the doorman (whose name we fail to remember) was immensely funny and welcoming. It was near the museum in Ayia napa.

Overall it was a great, enjoyable holiday and we will be returning hopefully in October this year of July next year.
