Corfu is a surprising gem being one of the greenest greek islands. If friendly locals and traditional greek foods are a must then a visit to this island will not disappoint. Most restaurants also cater for the broader spectrum. The more popular resorts have plenty of bars and there are beach activities for those seeking a livelier holiday. If you are only looking for a little peace and quiet there are many suitable areas in which to stay.

"Not much to see or do, but nice"

If you want a hotel where there are restaurants and gift shops to meander around, then this is not the right place. Louis Grand is in a small bay. There is a small village adjacent to the hotel but its not really worth a visit.
The beach is lovely and clean. The sea is clear and shallow, with small fish you can view via a snorkel.

"Small a bit rundown but okay"
resort to a friend
A bit run down, I suspect people don't go much as so much to do on complex. We had a walk one day to the shops but there is a good shop on the complex so no need to go. The food was good at Sandy Beach so we didn't want to eat out anywhere else.

Pretty island, shame i had no energy to explore. The cost of anything there is more than we would pay, esp for alcohol.

Dont be misled there is no resort around the hotel! There is one restaurant, not sure id want to walk there though as its a small road with no pavement. They do nice kebabs and chops but thats it on the menu and you can only pay cash! There is no way to get money from anywhere wihout a bus to corfu town, even the shop wont take card! Very poor. Apart from hat there is a petrol station and chemist! Thats it!

"great night life and not rough."

this resort is lovely, but very much for the young, great night life there for anyone who is really into that. good idea to hire a bike or something a view up the mountains, seen some lovely little villages when we did that. By day the resort is not busy at all with revellers, .. it is also lovely to get the taxi boat over to corfu. that is a lovely journey. I just have to say I love this little place.

As we were all inclusive I can only really comment that Gouvia is a typical Greek resort town with shops tavernas and restaurants. Plenty to walk around and enjoy which will take up about an hour. Corfu is about 15 mins away on the bus and is a wonderful old and very interesting city with much to see. Hire a car and go up Mount Pantokrator which is almost 1000m up stunning views

Not too bad, lots of places to eat. Seems abit run down and wasn't very busy even though we went in the height of summer. Beach is a bit dirty. All the streets are dirty. Drink is cheap.

Nothing in the resort for holiday makers what so ever!!! the resort was clean & tidy. The food was very good & varied each lunchtime & evening. There wasn't anything in the evening for the older children to do.

We went at the start of the season so it wasn't that busy, plenty to do for all ages. Didn't have to que for any rides, the wave machine is brilliant, sat on an inflatable dougnut relaxing on the waves. Some of which can reach 2 metres high.
Plenty of other slides suitable for infants and adults, the most fun ever was had by my family this week and we will certainly be going again to Aqualand.

Now down to the food, I have never had food as good and tasty in all my years of holidays abroad, even the puddings were to die for, not the usual look great but with no taste, 5 stars, the complex facilities for the young to old are magnificent, if you like thrill's and water their is no better place........
