Nasos Daisy Hotel Reviews

Myself and partner back from two weeks in this hotel (1-15 June '12). We had studio apt on 1st floor of studio block. Apts are very basic but, hey, you are in Greece. If you want 5 star luxury these are not the apartments for you. On arrival were greeted by a gentleman who gave us our room key and told us where to go. We ordered a safe box and air conditioning at the same time. Safe box was €15 for two weeks and air conditioning €6 per day. AC well worth it. We had a studio apartment on the 2ndfloor of the studio block overlooking the pool. We had an “end” apartment which was great as we had window in the “kitchen” and also an “end” balcony for our washing line (handy for rinsing out few odds and ends as clothes lines/airers are not provided in these apartments). The room had two beds pushed together. A dressing table with mirror and 3 drawers. Two lockers (3 drawers in each) and a wardrobe. Plentiful supply of hangers. There is sliding door into the kitchen area. We had two ring cooker (no oven) with a cupboard overhead, a kettle and a few pots and pans. There is a standard size fridge with ice compartment Crockery and cutlery was just enough for two. Louvre and glass doors led to balcony with table and two chairs. Off the kitchen another sliding door into the bathroom with shower, WC and wash hand basin. The shower curtain could have been cleaner and was not long enough to reach the bottom of the shower resulting in the floor getting soaked each time . We had a bath mat for the floor that was not changed at all during our two week stay. Our towels were changed twice (not enough) and our linen only changed once in two weeks (definitely could have been changed more often considering the heat). We had ample supply of hot water in the evenings for showers etc but in the morning hot water was not too plentiful. We did not eat in the restaurant so cannot comment. The bar was shut every night when we came home (around 11.30pm). We met people there who had been there last year and they said they had to come back to the hotel before 10pm each night to get a seat in the bar but this was definitely not the case this year.

The pool area is fine but beware the pool is deep even in the “shallow” end. It was up to my shoulders in the shallowest part and I am 5’6”. The “baby” pool is deep also and was up to my waist so definitely not suitable for toddlers. There is ample amount of sun beds around the pool and I never saw anymore than 10 people there so no “booking” beds. We only stayed at the pool the day we arrived and went to the beach every day. Across the road is a huge supermarket that stocks absolutely everything. We found it a bit hard to get fresh milk but we got to know the guy who runs it and he got us fresh milk every day. Beside that there is a little gift shop and sells the usual souvenirs etc. Just beside the shop there is a sign “main road”. This will bring you up a little Greek country lane onto the main street in Moraitika. You can also walk straight up the road (turn left out of the apartments) and it takes about 5 mins to get to the top of the road. The beach is about 3 mins away. Turn right outside the apartment. Pass the Sea Bird and the Albatross Hotel and there is the beach. Great for us beach lovers as no trekking for miles. However, we discovered that after the first week beds on the beach were being “held” with towels, hats, etc. We stayed outside the Katherina Taverna and is just got worse as the holiday went on. Terrible especially when the beds were not used until well into the afternoon. Two sunbeds and an umbrella was €7 per day. The beach is shingly and you have to go out miles to get even waist deep in the water so very very safe for small children. We ate in Katherina Taverna on the beach every lunch time. Food delicious and Justine looked after us very well. We had been there last year so knew all the nice tavernas and again this year I would recommend Zacs (turn left at the top of the road and walk about 5 mins (past the church). Food really good and very reasonable. Mandelana on the main street also excellent. We also visited Stavros Taverna on the main street mainly because he had three huge big screens to watch Euro 2012! His menu does not look great but the food is good and very reasonably priced. The Islands and Rose Garden also good but we found The Islands very packed with only one waitress so if you hungry not the place to go as the service is very bad. The food is good though. The resort was extremely quiet this year. No taverna (except Zacs)was full any night. Main street deserted at night time (the odd car going up and down). It suited us fine as we not into rackety places with disco music blaring morning, noon and night. All in all we enjoyed our stay in Nasos and Daisy and I would definitely recommend them for a nice, quiet relaxing holiday. Not for party animals!

this is a very well located hotel close to both beach bars and restaurants all rooms are spacious with tv fridge double bed balcony and air conditioning at a daily fee.there are two pools a larger one and a smaller kids pool also a kids play area set in the beautiful gardens the staff are friendly and helpful overall a good hotel to start your holiday

an excellent hotel set just few minutes from the beach bars and restaurants each room as its own balcony set in beautiful gardens the room s are spacious with double bed tv fridge and air conditioning, the staff are run by a family are very friendly and helpful there are two pools and a kids play area set in the gardens an excellent value for money hotel.

the hotel is situated a short distance from the beach bars and restaurants with supermarkets situated just across from hotel, the rooms are spacious with own balcony tv fridge and air conditioning at a price 35 euros a week but well worth it the staff are friendly and helpful as its run from a family there are two pools a larger one and a kids pool also a play area for children overall a excellent holiday base.
