"grand hotel stallis"
Overall Hotel Rating:
aug 2009, lovely hotel, great quality food and realy friendly staff. would not recomend for elderly people or people with walking difficulties,as rooms are built terrace fashion up a hill side, allthough there is a shuttle service provided for guests at the top of the hill. drinks in the hotel were expensive.there was evening entertainment but we opted to go into stallis for the evening, which is a 15 min stroll, the drinks are a lot cheaper here.large beer from 1.50 euro. our children are grown up but i noted there was a childrens club and various activities round the main pool during the day. there are four pools ,one of which is adults only.all in all a good hotel but be aware of the hills!!!

"Grand Hotel Resort review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We arrived for a two week stay at the grand hotel. It is situated on a very busy road! (a nightmare with kids) the hotel is lovely and modern. kids club is free and is on twice a day. plenty of activities during the day for kids and adults. Food is very nice and plenty to choose from. I felt the beer at the bar was expensive. apartments were kept very clean each day. There are no kettles in room, which was a bit of a pain as I had a one year old and still drinks a bottle.
We only went to the night entertainment once, which is outdoors/amphitheatre, which was concrete not very safe for young kids who start climbing up the steps and onto the stage. We only went once as the kids reps do the entertainment and from past experience these shows are not the best. Stalis is a lovely little town with plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from. The only down side of the town was that the street was not pedestrianised and quad bikes, taxis and coaches passed by everyminute, so you had to watch your back all the time. The town was very quiet when we were there, and I feel that the reason could be that families did not feel safe walking through the town with kids and having to constantly watch out for vehicles. The local beer is nice and it only costs from e1.50- e3.00. I feel the town could offer more for young kids maybe bouncy castles !.
I would return to crete again. I would also say that the clothing shops which sell rip off clothes are expensive so dont expect to purchase your clothes over there. Nappies are expensive too! The waterparks are brilliant a great day out. and great value for money!!!. Starbeach is excellent waterpark!

"Grand Hotel Resort review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Everything was very nice and new and very well maintained, from buildings to pools and gardens.
Rooms were spacious and cleaned everyday along with towels being changed.
Food was exceptable, not outstanding, but there was nothing that was not well presented and there was always a good choice.
Price of drinks was very high, best avoided.
Stalis is a 15-20 minute walk away but not much near the hotel.
Entertainment, they try hard. All in all nice hotel in quiet location built on a hill with 3 pools, hard to find fault with.Would recomend it.
