christopher the manager was very welcoming and with myself and my friend hazel as lone women we felt very safe. rooms are very basic which i expected the clenliness of the bathroom was very poor. When we arrived the toilet seat and toilet holder were hanging off also the small shelve in the bathroom were we were supposed to put our toiletrys was dirty also hairs in the sink.The balcony was dirty looked like it had not been cleaned.the fridge was also dirty inside.But like i said chrstopher was very nice, the cleaner was english, i usually have a greek cleaner maybe thats why.We did pay for the air con but i expected that i you usually do in greece unless your staying at a top end hotel.we booked a studio but ended up with a apartment which was a bonus. catherine & hazel

We are two scouse girls in our late 20's who stayed there in June 2009. After reading the bad reviews on Chris and his hotel I wasnt looking forward to staying there. We got to the apartments in the afternoon and within 9 minutes of being in the room with our music on Chris phoned us an asked us to turn it down which we found very funny but other than that and telling us to turn our balcony light off because it was still light a few times he was fine, he even cut my suitcase lock for me when i lost my key and each night we passed him on our way out he had a bit of banter with us, i even met his wife once who was really lovely. The room is very basic but clean which is all you need as a base and is an ok size for two girls but when your in a rush for a planned night out and you have two mirrors but only one with plugs near it is a bit of a pain with all our hair electricals. You have to pay for air con, i think we paid €35 for six days ov it which we needed in June . When Chris wasnt at reception there was a Bulgarian girl there who was lovely and smiled at each passing but didnt understand English so if you ever need to ask any questions and there is no Reps or Chris go to the hotel facing there is a girl working there who's really nice with short blonde hair and perfect English who's so helpful. Our Rep with Olympic was called Nadia who was lovely, funny, helpful and we had a really good laugh with her on all of our package excursions(which is worth getting from the reps) all the olympic reps made a really good effort with everybody on the bar crawls an boats etc not just staying with girls/boys. Olympic Reps Nadia, Jo, Katie and Windamer were all really funny and lovely.

these apartments are very basic, but to be honest its not the rooms that are the problem, the owner chris is an absolute w**nker! i cannot begin to stress how horrible he is, he extremely rude and constantly swears and shouts at guests, he barged into my friends roomm when she was completely naked and refused to give her any privacy and began ranting at her because he said she closed the door too loudly, also we were not allowed to go on the balcony at night time. This hotel isn't suitable for young people at all and he made our holiday a misery. Even the olympic rep despises him and thats saying something!

also the maid is ignorant, speaks no english and is useless at her job

please avoid these apartments at all costs! that man does not deserve to be making a profit from people who have worked hard and look forward to a holiday all year round.

We have recentley returned from the apartments, they were a suprise after reading some of the reviews before we left. On arrival at 5am we found in the fridge a bottle of water some milk and juice,also soft drinks and beer which was very welcme. The towels are on the small side but we took a bath towel with us just in case as we had read that towels were not provided The apartment was cleaned avery day and fresh towels and bed linen every two days.The owner chris was very pleasant and would do anything to help,there was a lot of banging of doors but this was due to young people opening the patio door and main room door to let the air through as they would not pay for the air con that was available in every room at a small fee.

We were very surprised at the apartments on our arrival as we have been to Greece for our holidays for the past 8 years and sometimes the appartments are just about bearable, these apartments though were lovely. Very clean and modern, the only thing I'd recommend though is take a towel with you as the only ones they supply are hand towels. The maid does an excellent job I cant praise her enough. We kept a room on as our flight back wasnt until 2am it cost us a reasonable 25 euros and we were allowed to keep the room until 9pm which was great as we could have one last long day on the beach and take our time getting ready for our last meal in Kardamena.

We went on the beach at the far end of the resort near Annas restaurant. If you use Annas for a snack or drink they'll let you use the sunloungers for free-bargain as last year we were paying 10 euros for 4 beds. Other good places to eat are Fat Olives just past McDonalds. Andreas who use to work in Costas on Bar street is now working there. It opened while we were there and although they were still trying to find their feet the service was very good and the food excellent. Yiannis, Aramis and Avli also create some amazing meals. Avli is a small place just by the crazy golf. The surroundings are lovely, you can sit either in or out but sit outside as you're enclosed in a courtyard and it's beautiful. A couple of our favourite places to have drinks are the Calypso cocktail bar along the harbour, again very good service free crips and peanuts and you must try the Zulu cocktails if you like Baileys. Its a family run bar Ilias and Georgia own it along with Ilias's brother and sister. The garden bar is a nice place to go and watch the world go by and have a cool heiniken in the process, good service from Lucy and the owner Jack.

An enjoyable holiday we'll certainly go back next year

This has got to be the worst accommodation I have ever had to stay and that was for only one night!

We were given room 34 which among the Olympic reps was well known as being an absolute hole It was not clean nor was it safe with a bathroom window that could not be closed securely without forcing it shut. But you needed that window open because of the stench. I say bathroom but it was more like a toilet which had a shower unit added to it! The room was that small you had to sit on the toilet to shower as there was no space! The only main light which you needed as it got really dark was hanging off the ceiling with bit of the fitting resting on the light bulb! The bed had slats missing which meant you fell through. There were no legs on the bed so it was resting on the floor! No balcony just as small square of tiled floor which looked into another apartment which didn't look much better. We heard that one couple had the rep by throat threatening them in order for them to moved

But don't go complaining as you will then get this irate Greek man. We mentioned the problems we had and that was the worse thing we could have done as he started shouting calling us liars and that we always complain. How we could have possibly come up with the idea that we always complain when we had just arrived we don't know! He went round telling all the guests how bad we were and that we were lying about the room! We also heard from other female guests that he had said to them that he had keys to every room and could enter them whenever he liked. I certainly wouldn't like to have heard this if I was female and staying here.

Now even with all of these concerns that we put to the Olympic rep you would have thought that they would have moved us quite easily. This was not the case. They would do this only if we paid Olympic £130 in cash to them! After a lot of talking we reluctantly paid this but we said only if we did it on our credit card so we then have proof when we complain to their Head Office. Maybe we should have had the Rep by throat too! Now if you need them for anything else don't expect the Rep to turn up as said on the board or when they say they will. In fact you will be lucky to see them at all once they have got your money.

Olympic are useless. All they are interested is taking your well earned money off you and that's it. They can't book any trips correctly. Numerous couples had trouble getting refunds as they were not booked on trips. If you were lucky enough to get on the trip the Rep would not be there as the trip is booked through another Excursion company. The only time you ever saw a Rep on a trip is if it involved lots of alcohol! Don't ask them to do anything else that does not involve them getting money or free alcohol as they will not help. We found this out when we had Family Emergency when we needed to get back to England as soon as possible. The rep was not sympathetic at all to our needs, just gave us a telephone number of a Greek airline who only spoke Greek when you called and was more interested in getting to the Bar Crawl that they had organised that evening than helping us! Absolute joke. We had to ask another holiday companies Rep for help as they were so useless.

Now if you have seen Trust Me I'm A Holiday Rep they way that Olympic is portrayed in that is nothing like what we got. In fact the celebrities in the show could have done a better job than the Reps we had they were that bad.

Kos, Karadmena as a holiday destination is really good though in spite of everything that happened. The people were really friendly and so many bars and restaurants to choose from. The music was brilliant with such a wide variety but that all stops at midnight because of Greek laws. However there are 2 main clubs which go on through out the night. Status and Starlight. Couldn't say which was our favourite as they were both good in their own way. Starlight might just edge it as we had great nights there at the Foam Party and Hed Kandi. Another great night Moonlight Madness with scouse comedian Jed. We saw him first in Laganas, Zante and we just had to go see him again. He is brilliant and takes the Mickey out of just about anyone so be warned if you take offence then this might not be for you. During the day its all about relaxing but you must be careful out in the sun as this island is very windy and before you know it your could be sunburnt if you are not careful

Without all the bad things that happened we had quite a good time. We recommend to anyone else but advise you not to go with Olympic and if you do go with them DO NOT stay at the Kardamena Holiday Apartments. Try and book the Mamouzelas which is just round the corner and such a better standard.

As for us I don't think we will be returning too soon with all the bad memories and experiences we had.

the hotel owner is perhaps one of the most miserable people you will ever wish to meet, he has no respect for his guests and will do all he can to make their holiday a misery. He constantly moaned at slamming of doors and even threatened one of my friends because he trampled sand through the reception.
Apart from the owner, Kardamena Studios are ok-ish, the beds are comfertable and the rooms are fairly clean, however the owner is enough to put anyone off here coming again.
