"Great hotel in a great location"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We booked the accomodation direct with Olympic via teh internet & paid approx £160 for 2 adults for 10 days self catering. We booked the lights separately with Easyjet as theye were cheaper than booking through Olympic. A taxi from the airport to the hotel will cost approx 37 euros. A return taxi to the airport will cost 35 euros. Get the hotel to ring up for the return taxi as it will cost more if you book in advance. The Nefeli Hotel is actually located in Lambi and is an approx 25 min stroll into Kos Town. The hotel is 3 buildings, approx 40 rooms in total. We stayed in a self catering apartment which was a decent size & was very clean. the rooms were cleaned & the towles changed on a regular basis. The self catering facilities consisted of a self contaimed unit in which there was a two ring hob, cupboard & frige, which was very cold, unlike some other places we've stayed. Air conditioning was available, paid locally, which we did use. The bar was run by Wilma, a lovely dutch lady who loved the island so much she stayed. The pool was fantastic and is very clean. Plently of sunbeds & umberellas.

"Budget Accommodation in Nice Area of Kos"
Overall Hotel Rating:
My boyfriend & I stayed at the Nefeli in June 2008. We didn't expect luxury as we had only paid just over 300pounds each for b&b for 10 nights. Here are my points about Nefeli:
- The hotel staff didn't seem to like us. They did however warm to older couples who enjoy drinking - The bedroom area was clean & bright - The bathroom area was not so clean - mould around the shower & windows & broken glass holder - There was a fridge in our room which we could have paid 5 Euros a day to use - Our balcony led straight onto the steps to the next block up, so could be accessed by all & the cleaner left our balcony doors open twice! Quite worrying! - The pool area is nice - padded sunbeds, but there are weeds growing through the tiles & a lot of people (including us) seemed to get a cold virus (from the pool perhaps?) - Food available at Nefeli - average breakfast - crusty rolls, bland cereal, greek yoghurt, honey & apricots, coffee/tea/hot choc machine. Pool bar food available was ok recommend the caesar salad, the sandwiches & the milkshakes. - There was extremely noisy building work going on throughout the day adjacent to the pool area - There was also noise from dogs - all day & night. I advise you to bring ear plugs with you
About the resort & area: - Not sure why they say Nefeli is in Kos Town. It is in Lambi nearly 2 miles from Kos Town - Lambi was lovely - quiet & no hassle from places. Theres a good stretch of flat path along by the sea-front for cycling or running. - Restaurants we enjoyed include Steven's Place & Mike's Restaurant. Also the restaurant you come to first (if you take a right out of the apartments & then a left) - Istros not a great restaurant - service not so friendly or good value & quality of food not so nice. Also the restaurant linked with Nefeli (in Kos Town itself) is not good at all, my food was cold - You can get a bus to Kos Town for 1.50 Euros, the walk is nice too but will take about 30 mins - The waterpark in Mastihari was nice (24 Euros each booked in Lambi) Coach pick up was 10am & it took 20 mins to get there. You stay until 4pm. The waterpark charge 2.50 Euros for the locker with 2.50 deposit. The sunbeds are free, the flumes (about 8 different ones),wave pool & lazy river are good. Food is reasonable too - The airport was quite chaotic. We waited outside for over an hour in a queue waiting for the check-in desk to open. This didnt affect the flight time for us luckily but was very unpleasant

"Nefeli Hotel review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just returned from two weeks at the Nefeli,it lives up to the reputation it has been given in the fact that it is a fiendly, family run Greek hotel.Nikkos and his family/staff always have a smile for you,the rooms are always kept clean, bed linen is changed on a regular basis, towels changed every day.Pool is very nice with no problem getting sunbeds and is kept very clean.Pool Bar is run by the extremely hard working Wilma, who even though she works a amazing amount of hours a day always has a smile and nothing is too much trouble for her.Breakfast - the typical Greek buffet breakfast of cobblestones and coffee, what would be nice to see would be hard-boiled eggs and /or a toaster and some proper bread.
The hotel is situated about 15 mins walk down a tree-lined road to lambi street, which has suffered from a property boom in the late 80's/ mid 90's whereby there are quite alot of closed down big hotels and resturants/bars on the main lambi road.On saying that there are still some good resturants and bars. The Van-gogh serves good food,as does the Efkalipity which does a all-inclusive meal at 15 euros each -- any starter, any main course and a free bar from 7pm to9.30pm. Bars -- probably the best was the B52 bar which had a happy hour from 8pm till 10pm any cocktal or long drink for 3 euros. Delons bar advertised john smiths bitter but didn't want to open the barrell just for Me as there wasn't much call for it (bearing in mind that this is in mid-August).good Chinese resturant with views from roof-top eating area went by the unfortunate name of Fu Kin Gu.
Lambi was quite quiet at nite for mid august probably because most people go to Kos town for the nite life. All in all a good holiday and a good place to go ,Probably go back but not for a few years -- more Grek Islands to explore.

Overall excellent,
Family run hotel, very friendly. Clean, food and drink prices very reasonable.
Breakfast basic continental, could do with boiled eggs or something.
Mini market now part of hotel.
Aircon, Safe box and fridge extras, total ?68 for 1 week.
1km walk to main road (shops, bars and restaurants) then a further 2 km to Kos town. A 2.5 mile walk depends on your fitness level.
Cab service to / from Kos town excellent, 6 euros.
We will return.

Been to Nefeli 3 times in the past 3years and cannot fault the reception you receive from Nicos and family not forgetting Willma, who is always on hand to help and advise. Be seeing everyone in June 06 on our next trip.
They greet you with such a warmth that makes you feel right at home. You soon stop being guests and become family friends.
excellent food available whenever you want to eat, they have great BBQ's and Greek nights with all the trimmings to make a great night for all ages.

"Nefeli Hotel review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This was our first visit to Kos we booked late and only chose it as it was a convenient time and flight.
We were so pleased we did.One hour after arriving we felt as though we had been there for ever.We were greeted by Nicos the owner who took our cases to our room. From then on we were part of the family.
The friendliness of Nicos Nikky Maria and Wilma was beyond belief and this extended to all the guests young and old.
The rooms are comfortable and clean.
The pool area is well kept and Nicos takes great pride in its cleanliness. The Greek night was great and also all Nicos barbeques.
Nothing is too much trouble for this wonderful family food and drink 24 hours a day.
Whilst there my husband suffered a detatched retina and the support and kindness Nicos Nikky and Wilma gave us was unpresidented.
We had to travel to Athens Nicos took us to the airport and made sure we were ok Then Nikky was calling me all the time to see if we were alright she even spoke to a doctor for us to make sure all was understood.
We feel we have gained another family and can't wait to go back. I have never seen so many guests crying when they were going home!Well done to all of you at Nefeli we will be back as soon as we can next year!

"Nefeli Hotel review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
One of the best holidays we have had in a long time, Nico and all the family really make you welcome, also Wilma who is probably the best barmaid in Kos. Nothing is to much for them to assist you in enjoying yourself and Nico does some amazing bar-b-ques with litte shots on the side, the pool bar is open 24 hours and food available any time. Its shows how good the food is when the reps eat there on days off.
My daughter and her boyfreind were staying at the Anastia hotel during our first week, (Not brilliant) they met us at Nefeli on our first night and were impressed so much they packed the swimming kit most days and walked the 20 mins up to Nefeli to use its facilities, with Nico's blessing.
Hotel is excellent, clean, tidy and most having a sea view, air conditioning is available but with having a screened mesh door as well as the normal glass door leading to the balcony, we kept the glass door open all the time. Saturday night is Greek Night, well worth the money, with traditional Greek dancers and food in abundance, hence we did it twice!!
We did 3 trips out with Olympic, which we were not impressed with, the only exception being the trip to Zia for a Greek night and a look around the village, subsequently have filed a complaint, since after we booked at the welcome meeting we could have done it better and cheaper ourselves having hired a scooter to tour the island which they advise you against, this was something my wife had never done before but thourghly enjoyed it.
We met some wonderful friends at Nefeli, both English and Dutch with a special mention to Tony and Deb plus Terry and Ellen, all of which are of the same opionion as us about the Nefelli, we will all be returning.

"Nefeli Hotel review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
A bit of the beaten track off a very hot to walk along tree lined avenue, itself off 'Lambi St', the main road into Kos town, plus the transfer which took for ever (Olympic put on more Coaches!) wasn't the best introduction to a place but wow that impression soon changed. What an absolutely fabulous time we had. OK the place is about 35 minutes brisk walk away from the centre of Kos town but hey you're too busy at the Nefeli to worry about going there! A Greek night each week, souvlaki nights and BBQ's virtually every night and you'll never get bored.
OK so you do want to get out and about of course and for a wee fee of around 10 ? you have the use of a bike for a whole week (a 7 gear tourer well up to the job). Well recommended as that journey to Kos Town will only take a few minutes. Most of the roads are one way and as a result the traffic seems to respect your slower pace as give you ample room. As mentioned 'Lambi St' isn't too far away with plenty of bars and ressi's to choose from if you don't fancy the hike into the town itself.
A trip of just 9 Km on your bike will also see you to the beach of Tigaki, well worth a days trip for a swim in the Med from a narrow sandy beach
One restaurant well worth a mention is The Hellas. Traditional Greek cuisine served by ever so friendly staff is top notch. The tomato soup is a meal in itself! Cheers for your welcome Dimitri.
Not to be outdone on the food front Nikos at the Nefeli is one hell of a BBQ'er. The half a chicken I had was the tastiest chicken I'd ever eaten, cooked to perfection. All washed down with some local Mythos (Meethos) beer served by, the always cheery, Wilma. Paris and Katarina? also did the honours on the bar front as did Maria and Niki. Everyone helped each other and this really showed in the service we got. Actually service sounds like we were customers but really we just felt like part of the big Nefeli family the whole time we were there
In Summary then, the Nefeli is a gem of a hotel, mostly due to the exceptional hospitality of the owner, Nikos, and his very obliging staff. We were so so impressed by the warmest welcome we've ever had which made the Nefeli a home from home. Yam mas!
Al and Lisa
Hopefully be back soon!!
