"Simply Terrible"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Reality has nothing to do with most of the reviews. The hotel is abandoned. We rent a two-roomed apartment and it was a single-room with a small connected basement. No sieves at the windows. No way to sleep at night. We stayed a single night and we left the other day early in the morning. Although we payed for 2 nights, it was impossible to stay the 2nd.

"Fab, fun and friendly base to relax "
Overall Hotel Rating:
Zako apartments are a walm and friendly place to stay. The family are all welcoming and will do whatever they can to make sure you have a fantastic holiday... all you need do is ask! The apartments have a lovely pool (and kids pool), they are 5 mins from the beautiful Tripity beach and it's a pleasant relaxing half hour walk along Limenaria beach to the main town. This is Greek life, strolling down to town to get fresh bread, milk, cheese and tomatoes! In town there are fabulous places to eat, shops, bars and cafes. If you prefer to just chill by the pool, Themis will serve you fabulous cocktails and play music requests to stimulate your sound senses. In short, if you're after a relaxing holiday with fun and friendly people who will go out of their way for you, this is the place to stay!

"Ghost town apartments"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Stayed here in Aug 10. Find it hard to believe the previous reviews as the place is now a ghost town with no English tourists when we stayed - only Eastern European & Greek. The location is close to Tripiti beach & there are a handful of places to eat within walking distance - however nowhere to buy even basic supplies locally so a car is needed to get into town for grocery shopping & to go & find signs of life in day or evening. Themis does not arrive until 4.30pm at the earliest so the bar remains closed until then & no food or drinks available except Greek salad & toasties. No music or entertainment at bar, had pool to ourselves majority of time & left to fend for ourselves. Keys are welded to keyring so unable to leave air con on to cool room whilst out. Overall could have been an excellent place but seems the owners no longer have any interest in trying to make it an attractive holiday destination. Very disappointed - with a little effort could have been much better.

"Best family in Greece!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Zako apartments are a great base to stay at during a holiday to Thassos. The whole family is absolutely fantastic. Paniota, mama works non stop to make delicious food and make you comfortable as well as cleaning and keeping the grounds ship shape. Costas, papa cooks a fab BBQ on monday night, which just keeps coming and then plays the bazouki. It's a great night lots of food, drink and party games! George is the person to see if you want a bike to get round the island, which is a must as there are beautiful coastal areas and mountain villages full of character. Themis is an absolute star and good friend while we were there. Doesn't usually see the mornings but when he arrives at the bar the mythos just keeps on flowing! You can be assured of a brilliant holiday if you decide to stay at Zako.

"Zako Apartments review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We have just come back from two weeks stay at the Zako Apartments in Limenaria and we have had a wonderful time! Firstly I have to say the apartments were basic in furnishings but that did not matter one bit! They are run by a lovely family Mama, Papa, Themis and George and they could not do enough for us to make our stay their comfortable, relaxing and memorable. Although the rooms were basic they were spotlessly clean and towels and sheets changed every 2/3 days (sheets were ironed) and the rooms cleaned every day. There was a fantastic pool and childrens pool which again was spotlessly clean.
Mama works hard all day and although does not speak a word of english she smiles at everyone and trys hard to understand you. Themis was just fantastic! His english is excellent and he loves to chat while he is busy in the bar. He will even ask if you need anything in the village when he scoots off on his scooter to get the shopping for mama.
Monday night BBQ night - not too be missed! It is only a small apartment block (8 rooms) and we all were there. Papa cooked some wonderful food - and then cooked some more - and more and more!!!! Mama baked cakes and prepared salad and the best cheeps in thassos (home made not oven stuff).
Limenaria was a good village, although nearly a town. We never had a bad meal while we were there. The beach by the village in very clean but we also used Trypiti beach which was a 5 minute walk from Zako this was also clean with nice sunbeds and a small beach bar.
You may find you need to hire a car or scooter whilst you are there as it is a bit far out if you want to explore (although bus stops outside). If you do hire a car speak to George he will make sure you have the BEST (so he sez).

"Zako Apartments review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Zako Apertments has got to be the lovliest place I have ever stayed. As its a small family run place, you are made to feel very welcome indeed, and the family are incredibly helpful and friendly, especially George and Themis.
Situated just 3Km from Limenaria the second largest Town on the island, Zako is perfectly placed. Not to close to the town, yet not too far. A walk into town takes just over 25min, and can be achieved almost entirely by walking on the beach, and a taxi back is just 3 euros, so its nice and cheap. The nearest Beach is only 500meters from your room, and boasts fantastic white sand and a great little bar.If you require a car to hire then I would suggest that anybody staying at Zako ignore the brochures from Thomas Cook about the company AVIS, and talk to either Themis or george as they can get you a MUCH better deal through their own contacts.
Best resteraunt has to me 'Moragioe' in Limernaria, you cant miss it, as its opposite a large marble monolith with carvings from Greek legend.
If yout thinking of a nice qiuet break, in what has to be the friendliest Apartments complex ever then you cannot do any better than this. Five stars all round!!

"Zako Apartments review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Although it was the first week of the season the weather was extremely hot. Zako apartments are wonderful. George and his Mum and Dad gave us such a wonderful time and the Monday night BBQ will be remembered for a long time. The apartments were scrupulously clean as was the whole complex. The beach at Tripiti is lovely although the sea can be difficult to get into in places because of the rocks. Tripiti is so peaceful and quiet and there is nothing to do, you will need transport if you want to go into Limenaria itself, although a taxi was only 3 Euros. It is a beautiful island and the mountain villages are well worth a visit, especially Kastro. This certainly rated as our best holiday yet and we have visited lots of the Greek Islands.
