Discovered it in May 2011 and enjoyed so much we went back in September and will be there again next week. Away from the hustle and bustle but the town restaurants and bars are just a five minute walk away and the beach can be reached in about 10. The apartments are well equipped and are kept spotless, as is the rest of the complex. All the staff a friendly and having worked as a team for three years or so know what they are doing. The food on offer is brilliant and if you want something not on the menu just ask and you may be suprised. There are several nice walks you can take, some involve walking up hills but nothing too strenuous. Reasonable bus service to the capital and quite cheap, and plenty of trips on offer for days out. Check two or three operators before booking as there can be quite a wide range on prices. The owners, Yiannis and Sakis, are always around and will sort out any problems quickly and without hastle, not that we have had any. Give it a try, we have been to many Greek islands and resorts and this has been our best experience. Frank & Sue Wh

The Manousis Apartments are ideal for anyone who wishes to be away from the noise of the main town, but, within comfortable walking distance (10 mins) of both the restaurants, bars and beach. We went with a 12 and 14 year old who both loved it so much they wanted to go back the next year. The apartments are spacious and modern with a small kitchinette (full size fridge and 2 ring hob) and full bathroom and was very clean. There are two different blocks and we stayed in the family apartments which have twin beds in the main area and a seperate double room leading on to the balcony. The apartments are very clean with sheets and towels changed regularly. They have air conditioning locally charged, but, even during August the apartments are so well built we didn't feel we needed it, so saved money. The pool is a good size and has a small childrens pool. There are plenty of sun loungers and also a shady area under some trees behind the pool. We had the occasional meal in the hotel restaurant which served basic main meals ie burger and chips which was very good, especially the full english breakfast. The also sold drinks and icecream. The pool area has it's own clean and modern toilets and shower which is very handy if you have to vacate your room on the last day and then wait for your transfer. There is a basic shop at the end of the drive where you can buy all your basic provisions. There isn't really any entertainment other than the weekly greek night, but, we prefer a quiet life on holiday where we can go to bed undisturbed when we want.

Holiday was for one week from the 1st Oct 2009. A very clean hotel. The room was spacious and well kept. The food which you can order from the bar is excellent and the hospitality of Rula and Sakkis was second to none. The soft sandy beach is 5 - 10 mins walk away. The town center is 5 - 10 mins walk. There is a small shop selling all the necessaries at the end of the drive and a larger store just round the corner. Excellent place to stay if you like the night life of town then somewhere quite to sleep. We will be returning. Paul & Zoe

We stayed here earlier this year (june 08). When we arrived (the day after the earthquake) we thought we were a bit out the way, but soon found a short cut to the resort main street, took us 5 - 10 mins at the most, The apartment we stayed in was a ground floor studio in front of the pool, it was plenty big enough for the 2 of us, very clean (the cleaners were friendly and did their job very well). The owners were very friendly and helpful and the food on the menu was really good. There are not enough sunbeds if the apartments are full and people go out really early to put towels on. It is very much a family/couples apartment, there were a couple of young parties there on our second week and they were very noisy, but quietened down after a word from the owners, but it didn't spoil our holiday. It is an ideal base for couples/families who want to be away from the main Tsilivi road. If you want to look at the apartments before you go , http://www.manousis.gr/en/index.php will give you a good idea of what to expect.

Excellent apartments - as good as anything we have stayed at in the Greek Islands. The apartments were clean, convenient for beach and village yet tucked away in a charming, quiet corner of Tsilivi. Also everybody connected with the apartments were extremely helpful and determined to make your holiday as enjoyable as possible. We didn't want to come home.

The accomodation is very basic (do not go by what you read on the Manousis website!!) Rmember it's a Greek apartment, and best to take a travel kettle, and extra cooking utensils etc. There are two rings(one large and one very small) so if you are holidaying on a budget you may be living on noodles and pasta for your holiday stay!!(Like we did) I found the owners very helpful and friendly, and on the last day when we were running low on euros they kindly offered us complimentary drinks. My children were particularly impressesed with Harry, the barman, and loved watching him do his nightly pool cleaning! There were plenty of sunbeds for all guests, and some in a nice quiet shady area away from the poolside. The maids cleaned the apartments well, and daily. Our only hiccup was that we took a flight from Birmingham, and hadn't realised we had to vacate our apartment at 12 noon on the Thursday for a 3am Friday departure! With 2 children, we were worried how we were going to manage until the following morning. The owner offered us another room for the last night for 25 euros, but we had run out of money, so decided against it. The owners allowed us to stay in the room until 4.30pm on the Thursday to make it a bit easier. I was not annoyed with the owners at all ( I could understand that they had to have the room cleaned and this would not be feasible at 3am in the morning with the extra expense of the cleaners coming in) I am really more unhappy with the Olympic Holidays rep, Jennifer who had not informed us at all that we would not have the room on this final night. (I now realised why she handed the Olympic Questionnaire to us on the Tuesday beforehand, (Also when I made a joke in front of her about setting my husbands alarm for 3am - she didn't say anything -I now know why!!!) Funny, she wasn't on the coach when departing either! Anyway, we walked to Tsilivi beach on the final evening and watched the sunset, which was fantastic. Can't beat swimming in the Med at 10pm at night! All was not lost, and when we returned to the apartment the owners were friendly and accomodating, allowing the children to lay out on the sunbeds to try and sleep, and offering us extra coffee. I cannot thank them enough. We will always remember their kindness and welcoming nature. Just, next time I would book independently! Also, if you are going in a family group, you may find there is a lot of noise on the outward flight (We shared the plane with the 18-30 Lagana holidaymakers)

Dont go to the Manousis Apartments if you want a good, peaceful nights sleep! Just got back from 2 weeks holiday there and feel more stressed than when I went. The first week a large group of Northern English tatooes louts were shouting at the tops of their voices till 4am, the second week they went home but were replaced by a different group who were equally loud till all hours of the morning. Even with all doors and windows shut (in 42 0c temps) we could still hear them. The apartments were spacious, but basic - no complaint there, just the other residents who spoil it for other people!

Tried to book the Manousis last year but it was full and now I know why! One of the best Greek apartments we have stayed in and the only place where the pool area is mopped every day. Yiannis, Sakis, Rula and smiling happy Harry are the perfect hosts and nothing is too much trouble for them, food is good especially on the Greek Night with the bar open until you wish to go to bed.

We met some wonderful people at the Manousis, Russel & Theresa plus Graham & Cheryl who made our holiday even more special, they also agree with this evaluation from conversations we had.

WARNING beware of the cute black puppy who has a shoe fetish!! A few people had flip flops disappear while bathing round the pool, then poor Theresa lost a sandal when she took them off on our last night. We found the secret stash at the other side of the shop the next morning but Theresas sandal was from River Island, therefore it being a bit special he must have buried it for later. This event caused a lot of amusement between us all!!

We have recently got back from a week in tsvilli in Zante and we had a great time. The Manousis apartments are in a quiet part of the town but in an excellent location only 10 mins from the centre of town and the beach. The apartments are the nicest we have ever stayed in during numerous holidays to the greek islands. The pool is nice and clean and the bar serves drinks and food all day. You can rent a kettle and fan from reception at minimal cost. There is a supermarket less than a min walk away. We spent most of our week on the beach which is uncrowded and very clean. It cost 5 euros to hire two sunbeds and an umbrella for the day.

We went on two boat trips both booked through Olympic. The first was to the shipwrecked boat and although the boat is nothing much to look at the setting is lovely. The second was to see the loggerhead turtles although we only saw one it was great and swimming off the boat in the sea was an experience.
The resort has something for everyone. The resort is bigger than you think and there are plenty of bars and restaurants but it never feels tacky. We found that the more traditional greek tavernas were the best for food and value for money.

Overall I would recomend the Manousis and Tsillivi to anyone.

I originally visited the Manousis in May 2006 (see earlier review) and the standard is as good as it was then.
The hosts - Yiannis and Sakis - are still perfect and nothing is too much trouble for them
It speaks for its self when as soon as we got there we met peeps we met on last years visit and this seems to be the norm with the Manousis.

We visited the Ark bar most nights and this is well worth a visit - again the hosts Nicos and George are very friendly, as are the waiting staff. To see George danding and singing on the bar whilst it is on fire is very funny but please go and see it

We eat at diff places everynight and never found a bad meal.

We will be going back next year again and hope to see the friends we met again this year (Bob, Sylvia, Heather and Shaun)

Apartments very clean, linen and towels fresh and white.Sakis and Yanis very nice people any problems they soon get it sorted. Pool excellent no problem with sunbeds. Bathroom a little on the small side, but plenty of room in the studios themselves.Ideally situated quiet country surroundings during the day then just a short walk to the resort centre.Food and drinks in the bar good and resonable.

Will definately return there.

We have just come back from a lovely holiday, we were only there for one week and wish it had been two, or forever! We didn't do half the things we wanted to.
The Manousis Studios are excellent, they are spotlessly clean with maid service daily. We stayed in the block away from the pool area, there was air conditioning available but we didn't need it as the room stayed fairly cool. Be aware though on our first night we slept with the patio windows open and were attacked quite badly by mosquitoes, after that we sprayed insect killer before we went out in the evening and slept with the patio windows shut and we did not have any more problems.

Tsilivi beach is lovely and clean with shallow clear waters and while we were there the sea was very calm, we hired 3 sunbeds and an umbrella for the day and it cost 9 euros.
There are loads of places to eat, Popeyes do a good breakfast with plenty to choose from. We didn't try many different places for our evening meal, as on the first night we went to ";Sweet Revenge"; and the food and service were superb, the helpings are enormous and all reasonably priced we wanted to try everything on the menu and kept going back!

We did an afternoon half day trip to the blue caves and shipwreck. A coach picked us up in Tsilvi and took us to St Nicolas Port for the boat, the coach trip was good and there was some good views on the journey. I did read on a website that the caves are best visited in the morning as this is when the water reflects blue, this must be right as they were not as spectacular as expected. The bay that the shipwreck is on is beautiful and the water is an amazing blue colour just like the pictures you see in every holiday brochure, the wreck itself has been vandalised and is covered in grafitti, which is a bit of a let down.

Zante airport is a hellhole!! Ensure you buy snacks and water before you leave the resort because the snack bar is very expensive.

Would definately go back and would highly recommend the Manousis.

The Manousis appartments are SUPERB.

They are the cleanest and weel kept studios we have ever been to. Sakis, Yannis and Valentino are the nicest people you could wish to meet in fact all the staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The appartments are clean and superbly maintained, the maids are the hardest working we have ever come across. The food and cocktails are excellent (unless you overdo the B52's and then you suffer!!). You are near the beach and the village, which is great with tavernas serving wonderful food with choices for every taste and at reasonable prices.

Manousis must be good cos we returned home on 15th June and had booked for next year by 19th June cant wait to go back !!!
