Cavalossim Beach Holiday Reviews

This is a fantastic restort for many reasons:- (1) The weather wonderful sunshine and not -generally- humid (2) The service in all the restaurants is good (3) Always felt safe (4) Something for everyone, so restaurants and lively bars with music and quieter restaurants.

If you are looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday this is the ideal location. The beach sellers can be a pain but generally a polite no thank you suffices.

Hugh beach that was quiet with not many people in. Just next door to our hotel were the unexpensive fishermans wharf restaurant which also provides some decent quality meals and locally caught fish. The beach shacks that provide snacks and bar food had all been dismantled for the monsoon season. Just up the beach from Leela is the Holiday Inn which you can also grab a light lunch if you're out for a stroll. Evening dinner at Martins Corner is a must. (the hotel can organise a driver) So so service but stick to the fish and you cant go wrong with the flavours. A popular hang out. The cheese nan a firm favourite.

The main attraction to Cavelossim is the beach where the swimming is great - if you like strong breakers. Plenty of lifeguards along the beach but we never saw them in action. The beach shacks provide sun beds which, if you buy their drinks, are free to hire. Bikes available for hire and great for cycling along the beach or on the side roads. The village has plenty of restaurants and shops and good tailors if you want to get clothes made.

Disappointing. Apart from isolation (see above) the range of things to do and see is very limited. One trip, beach BBQ, was described as going to an isolated beach for the BBQ. What was not mentioned was that the beach was immediately at the end of Dabolin airport with planes flying overhead about 100 feet above us on takeoff.

The beach is clean and sea very warm - the hospitality offered by the staff in the Beach shacks is excellent particularly Mikes Oasis - they gave 8 sun beds every day and even put our spread our towels for us. The beach is all sand and the sea is great for cooling off and fun in the waves at times. Only drawback are the ocassional beggers but the shack staff soon chase them away great location great food cannot wait to go back.

Cavelossim is a village almost totally set up for tourists now. I am sure it was once a nice little village but almost all the shops and businesses cater for tourists, with inflated prices in some cases even above the UK. Having said that there is a good selection of restaurants where you can still eat reasonably cheaply and the food is very good. The beach is fantastic, although very natural and the only cleaning of the beach is done by the tide.

nice resort but in a poor area,poor as in not well off people. there is a lot of poverty all over india including beggers on streets including children and v old people.saying that we felt totally safe walking around . you are helping them by going to resorts. plenty of things to see in goa., we went on the 3 day jungle stay over which was fantasic , watch out for those funnel web spiders though!!

The resort is definitley not for party goers as it is very laid back and everything goes quiet at about 11.30. We are both in our 40s and really loved it. Plenty places to eat out, either by the sea or the river Sal - shops and markets to browse around and a good cheap bus service that would take you in either direction. The beach was a short walk away and stretched for miles and miles...

I wasn't too impressed with the resort, I did not venture away from the village, I found it to be very dirty away from the hotel. The beaches though were kept clean and the locals were welcoming.

You can walk along the beach into the resort centre. Not much there apart from a few shops. however the shopping centre there is quite good. The pharmacy there could also come in handy. Beware when you are out and about of people trying to sell you timeshare, they try and say you will get this free but when it comes to it you spend 2 hours there and they don't have what you want in stock.

The beach and surrounding areas were lovely, people very friendly. The beach shack was a great place to eat and get a drink and made you feel welcome

A very good resort, and gave us somewhere to go in the evening to get away from the hotel and the so called entertainment. Lots of shops and bars. Mike's Place a great place with excellent live music and entertainment. Also loved the Raj Mahal restaurant on the river Sal. Wonderful, friendly and helpful staff, great food in a lovely setting. Being on the beach somewhat spoiled by the hordes of beach sellers who do become a bit of a nuisance especially when they sit down on your sunbed uninvited.
