The old town is pleasant to stroll round, though hard on the feet (cobbles). The newer part of the town is not spectacular though there are pleasant gardens.

The cable car trip to Monte is worth it for the views and the tobogans are fun to watch though not recommended for the more mature. Please note the Botanical Gardens are not suitable for the mobility impaired.

Taxis are cheap, if you pick them up away from the hotel.

If you want to do a bus tour the Red Bus has a better route than the Yellow and Blue one and runs more often. Both cost 12€.

Spectacular scenery. Good local buses. Floral Festival is 2 weeks after Easter. worth planning for Use the Pingo Doce supermakets (at Lido, Forum or in town) for bargain shopping, including booze.

A quiet little fishing village with not very much night life but with some very nice restaurants, although beware eating in the one with the lovely view on the front which is very expensive and not the best of food, just a lovely place to sit.

This is a beautifully maintained and peaceful holiday and residential area a short walk from the very quaint but vibrant town of Guia and algarve shopping. Guia itself is a must visit especially at night due to the excellent variety of restaurants and bars. Ideal was our favourite restaurant

Small resort nice few restaurants near the beach, but not much there you really need to get a taxi or car to travel round.

Be prepared for the walks to the beaches. The land is not flat, it's a hilly area, although the walk is well worth it in the end, to little intimate beaches. If you like quiet then just off season is the best time, where you can walk to and around The Strip without bumping into too many people. If you're an avid and budding golfer then this is the resort as there are many golf courses and golf resorts that you can access, with Pine Cliffs golf and country club being one of the best.

Nice place but you do get hassled alot by the people trying to get you in their restaurants. It has a nice marina and fishing port which you can go and have a look around and sit and have a drink. The beach is nice and clean you can get on it easily by the square which also has two escalators which take you up and down the steep hill there is also a land train which takes you around the resort and runs through the day and some of the night.

The resort was closed- despite us being told that it would all be open when we booked it. There was very little within walking distance that would fill a day, which meant we had to spend a lot of money on taxi fares. There was very little open outside of the hotel, although the Old Town Albufeira was lovely and we had a nice afternoon there.

A beautiful small city and resort with a wonderful climate the year round. And the island has amazing mountains and scenery with fantastic views on a clear day. There are always flowers in bloom. Especially recommended as a winter break in Jan/Feb for those of us living in N. Europe. Safe, friendly and a place to return to.

Excellent eating out just outside the hotel in the old town. Good local bus service and some nice gardens to visit. The fish, vegetable and flower market are worth a visit.

A very quiet resort, with a lovely walk along the waterfront/harbour. It is suitable for buggies and wheelchairs. You can get boat-trips along the Ria Formosa, and the bus will take you to Tavira quite easily.

What a lovely town, with a nice easy going atmosphere. There are plenty of things to see and do and any number of beaches to enjoy. If you rent a car you will get to see and enjoy a lot more, Try Luzcar for great rates. There is a great variety of pubs and restuarants to suit all pockets and tastes. Taxis are plentiful and cheap and there is an excellent local bus service.

A great location in the Algarve, central and close to Albuferia. Lovely well maintained peaceful area with a mix of holiday rentals and residents.
