A great block of apartments. We had a 1 bedroom apartment which was a great size and very clean with good modern furniture. There is a good sized pool with seating around it and a grassed area with sunbeds too. There is a pool bar which serves your normal food and drink which is good but expensive as always. We used to go next door to a bar called Teasers for a full engligh breakfast was 2 euro and a pint was 1 euro - can't go wrong. There was karoke on some evenings if you like that. The only downside is having to get up at 8am to get your sunbeds there is an alarm on the door out to the pool which goes off if you try and go out before 8am. There is plenty of beds and you can usually get them but as we had two small children and it is easier to be by the pool these beds went quickly. The bedding was changed every 7 days and the towels every 4 days. The cleaners were very good and we had a great holiday with no problems. Don't hire the remote though for the air con and they do work if you just press the button on them.

Having booked this hotel and then reading the reviews we were very nervous. Myself, my parnter and our three year old could not have been more pleased when we arrived. Nothing wrong with the outside of the hotel. Our room was as requested and cleaned every day apart from a Sunday (we stayed two weeks) and towels were changed whenever we put them in the bath tub. Kitchen area was not extensive but then who goes on holiday to cook !!!. Air condition worked a treat - 15 euors of the remote control which you get back when you hand it back in. Pool area was cleaned every day. Sunbeds - well not too much of a problem but then the hotel was not fully booked - i could see where the problem would occure in June or July or early August. Although the one day we could not get a bed at 9am the hotel manager came and removed all the towels that were on beds with no bums !!! and it never happened again. The bar staff were friendly and great with kids. The accommodation looked exactly like the photos. We booked a trip through the hotel and it was fine and also booked the taxi to the airport and that was fine as well. All in all would go back no problem and recommend it.

"Excellent Hotel"

Stayed here the end of July 2009, myself and my husband were both 44, my daughter was 17 and our son was 9 years old. I would say that the hotel is suitable for all ages. Excellent hotel. The reception, bar and cleaning staff were all very friendly. Cost of hiring was 15e deposit for remote for air conditioning (which I would recommend as it was very hot when we went at the end of July. I think you could switch it on without the remote but it meant climbing on a chair to reach the switch), 15e deposit for remote for TV, 5e deposit for a second key and to hire a safe it was 15e deposit plus a cost of 15e for the safe for the week. So I had to hand over 65e of which we got 50e back. What we did was hand back both the remotes and the spare key on our last night before we went out so we had an extra 35 euros to spend and then just collected the 15e deposit for the safe the morning we left and used it to buy breakfast. The reception and bar area was clean. Lots of comfy sofas to sit on if you don't want to sit on the table and chairs by the bar. Swimming pool had a childrens area and lots of inflatables for the children to play with. There is also a grass area around the back with more sunbeds and a small snack bar. Had a problem getting the electric to work when we arrived and had to go down to the reception, they came within 5 minutes to sort it out. I thought the room was really big compared to a lot of other places we have stayed in. We had a one bedroom apartment. Me and my husband slept in the room and there was a sofa bed in the living area with a pull out bed below it where the children slept. We had a balcony with a table and 2 chairs and the kitchen had an oven, fridge, microwave, kettle and toaster. There were 2 wardrobes but not many coat hangers, I was glad I took some of my own.

"Central Location"

We really enjoyed our stay here. The apartments are very central and it is only a 5 min walk to either the beach or the strip. We found it helpful to get a freemap from the Reps Office in the apartments. This will give you all the information you will need. It locates all the bars, restaurants etc and is invaluable on the first few days in the resort. The place wasn't too hilly but you do have to be careful when out walking. The pavements are paved in small cobbles which are treacherous when wet and also the edges stick out at odd angles so be careful. We found Teasers which was about 10 yards from the hotel entrance on the right perfect for breakfasts - in fact it cost 1.79 euro for breakfast and a few doors up is Coyote Bar which sell pints of their local beer for 1 euro between 8.00am - 9.00pm great. The Santa Eulalia Beach (which is left from the entrance of the hotel and down through trees) is beautiful but the loungers are 25 euro for one lounger all day - a very steep price and 15 euro for 1/2 day. Don't bother, there is a grassy area which you can put out your towels. Take a picnic as there wasn't much down there in the shape of shops etc. The pool did seem busy but we didn't go out until the afternoon and there were always loungers. There was only entertainment on at the hotel every other night but it is so close to the strip so don't worry. We would definately go back. The staff were very helpful and the rooms cleaned daily. No problems with dirty linen or towels. You did have to pay for the remote for the air conditioning but we just turned it on by hand. We stayed at the end of August/first week in September and the weather was fantastic with most days in the 40's. There is a train that takes you into Albuferia and it didn't stop until about 3 in the morning so a lot of people were using it as a taxi service. A full day's travel which means you can go on the bus as many times as you want was only 4 euros and great fun. Wait until you see the hills there - crampons and ropes a must!

Had a brilliant two weeks at this Hotel. A very good base to visit the Strip if you want loads of entertainment and plenty of Bars and Restaurants close by as well. Maid service very good visited everyday except Sunday. Limited entertainment in Hotel but due to it's location it was ideal to visit all the local bars where there was PLENTY of entertainment to suit all age groups. Very friendly people the Portuguese loved the British/Irish holiday makers. The beach about a 10 minute walk and beautiful once you got there with quiet and busy areas. A brilliant Holiday would definitely return to Portugal and this Hotel.

"Large, clean, comfortable accommodation"

5 night package holiday via Jet2.com. Very surprised at the standard of accommodation which was excellent. Large 1 bedroomed apartment with pool view. Reception staff speak english and are very informative of the local area. Bars and nice restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance as is the nearest supermarket. "The Strip" is about 10 minutes walk - close enough yet far enough away not to be disturbed by noise. Mini train runs from the strip to the old town on a regular basis. However, we chose to walk a couple of time during a morning which took approx an hours stroll - but well worth it. First visit to the Algarve and was really impressed with the friendly people and the cleanliness of the resort. Will definitely return..especially for the locally produced wines and food available in the local restaurants. Unable to comment on the food available at the apartments as we travelled early in the season this was not available via the apartments bar. Although they did have a large outside terrace area and were putting new signs up regarding food service which we guess will be available during the summer months. Apartment bar has Sky TV with large screens so ideal for anyone wishing to watch footie or rugby matches!!!!

We had a great holiday here. The apartment was fine - normal 3 star standard and cleaned every other day - plenty of utensils for cooking but we didn't bother as too many nice places to eat. Had breakfast 2 euros each for full english at Teasers bar next to the apartments - very friendly. Had excellent day out at Zoomarine but don't go on the coach trips offered you will spend nearly 2 hours on the coach there and back doing pickup/drop and miss some shows. The ticket shops do the same trip and for the extra £5 euros will take you in an 8 seater minibus there and back in 20 mins at times of your choice - fabulous. Pool was fine. Beach is a long trek down a very dangerous road packed with cars and no pavement but is terrific when you get there.

Now this time planing holiday from http://wwww.apextravel.co.uk

Had a very relaxing and hot week in Albufeira. Temperature was around 27 most days however, the locals said this was abnormally hot for the time of year, but was a nice suprise for us. We went to the beach most days, went to about 4 different beaches. If you hire a car like I did visit the Nike Factory Store in Algarve Shopping in Guia (near Zoomarine) some great bargains in there. The roads in the Algarve are very well maintained and very well signposted which makes driving easy there. A day to Vilamoura marina is enjoyable and the beach there is really nice too. There is plenty of restaurants in Albufeira and the holiday is suitable for most age groups. We flew from Liverpool to Faro too which was a bonus rather than having to go to Manchester. We hired a car through First Choice Sundrive for £73 for the week which I thougt was excellent value. Visit the Forte Bar in Sao Jao near Club Oceana and say hi to Laura the owner from Manchester, a good friend of mine.

arrived after being collected by friends at airport.20 mins from airport.weather for the 7 days was excellent not a cloud.temperatures 80 degrees plus.

santa eulalia is a pretty laid back, plenty of bars ,beaches with a good selection of resturant at cheap prices.accommodation was excellent a 3 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms ,views over looking the sea/bay-fantastic.all this space for three people and a different bathroom each day-paradise.apartments were clean, good maid service, reception quiet, but close to the harbour and a drop from the spotless sandy beach.places of interest included, ibiza town ..still cool, trendy ,laid back in may..go to the castle and explore the side streets and boutiques coming down.hippy market ok but a bit commercialised.es cana avoid...san antonio avoid..not pleasnt.but hire a car tour around and see some wonderful hippy beaches.

some say ibiza as an island has mystical powers, i would say if you do not get it once you have been, you will not understand.... a calming feeling of relaxation.bars good..try merkels and a bar called clicks, which is owned by an austrian chap called hans who has lived on the island for years...he is the best landlord on the holiday and will recite funny stories for hours... hans if you ever read this have a drink for me.

reading the next two reviews sums up the hotel. nothing has changed regarding the cleanliness of the pool area or the bar/reception area there are still dirty . lots of loose tiles around the pool area so no good for infants or the elderly.we got the same story about keeping on the room , not even sorry just a ";we are fully booked"; remark from receptionist. they now have a microwave in every room and more up to date hot plates but these still take ages to get hot. Nice resort but would stay eleswhere. Would recommend Teasers ber for a drink and breakfast. Try to avoid this hotel , even more so in the school holidays!!!!!!

On arrival at this Hotel our impressions were as expected after reading the other reviews on this Hotel. The Hotel was worn and dated, however it was clean through out. The aircon and Sky tv were both free for the duration of the stay, on handing over 15Euros for each remote control.(This was returned on departure)

The aircon doubled as a fan heater which could be thermostatically set, and was a god send in the cold April evenings.

The reception staff were very helpful, although serious, this is probably more to do with there Culture than Personalities.

We were in room 21 which was on the ground floor overlooking the pool. The room was huge with lots of storage. We did suffer from big brother style privacy as we were on the Pool level. Some blinds would have been nice, no stepping out of the shower in the nude!

The rooms were clean, however the fridge was rusty, the shower holder was broken, the crockery chipped and ready for replacement.

Our bin as emptied daily and toilet paper replaced, however we did not have the floor swept or mopped until friday 2 days before our return, this was only after asking when our room would be cleaned at reception. This should be done 5 days?! Out of seven!?

The cleaning seemed to take place late afternoon when everyone is returning from the days events.

The Hotel boasts a games room, indoor pool,(not heated) brrrrr! the usual facilities were available such as internet access, drinks were available from the bar, more expensive than outside the hotel, but still reasonable prices.

No restaurant in the hotel, except for a snack bar available during pool hours.

The pool did suffer seriously from Lack of sun loungers, the worst We have ever seen!

The pool area was littered most of the week, this should have been cleaned, however some of this was down to lack of respect from the hotel clientele, rather than the duties of the staff!

The bar in the hotel was lively at night and children ran freely around the site unsupervised. The hotel was hot, on safety and did insist on removing clientele with glass, in the pool and childrens areas and replacing with plastic beakers!

The hotel did offer entertainment, the Parrot show was free, the photos were available with the Parrots, no pressure to buy the Pics from anyone!

The hotel was near 2 beaches, one you turn left out of the front door and is about a 5 minute walk down the bank, turn right after crossing the road, well sign posted Praia (beach).

Very nice restaurant over looking the beach called ATLINTICO a bit pricey but well worth it!

The other beach is a right turn out of the hotel, cross the road at the crossing and go straight over the rounda bout, do a left turn next to the C.P.O beach club hotel (very nice building yellow and white detail).

To get to the strip do a right out of the hotel, cross at the crossing and follow the road straight up over the roundabout keep walking for about 5 minutes till you get to the wild bar do a right here!

The ";TEASERS"; cafe bar first on your right out of the hotel does excellent breakfast for only 2.5 EURO all the food here is excellent and the staff are very friendly, the place is soo clean! The special is Coffee and brandy only 2.5 EURO! Huge measure of brandy and very good real coffee! The local lagers SUPERBOCK and SAGRES are very good better than stella and only 1.5 EURO PER PINT!

FOR THE NEAREST SUPERMARKET TURN RIGHT OUT OF THE HOTEL AND FOLOW THE PATH PAST MARTINIQUE BAKERY (local lager only 1.5 EUROS a pint served in a boot shaped glass, delicious bread and cakes. Supermarket accross road called MARINCHINHO very good fresh bread here!

The strip is very tacky, usual Blackpool overpriced scenario!

Cigaretes very cheap all over Portugal 31 EURO For LandB, all branded spirits very very cheap! TIP!

If you bring any home (spirit bottles) wrap in a beach towel and place inflated kids arm band around the bottle, put in case, never break!

AlBUFEIRA OLD TOWN, really nice, avoid the Cafes on the beach front overpriced junk, and sub standard too.!

Really nice clean beach, take a walk up through the town to the new marina, really nice walk with Lots of photo oppurtunities, Basically facing the sea do a right and is about 15 minutes walk above the beach. Lovely BOGANI coffee kiosk just above the harbour, stop for a beer, only 1.5 Euros delicious coffee too.

Taxi from Hotel only 4 EUROS better value than the unsafe train, and more convenient than the Local bus.

All in all with This hotel you get what you pay for, it is clean although it is dated, I would stop here again due too the value and good location.

Algarve is a nice place gr8 beaches and so much cheaper, than my usual destination Cyprus, which is tourist rip of capital of the World!

This was our first time in the Algarve and first holiday without kids so we were extremely looking forward to it but were very dissappointed when the coach pulled up outside. These apts are located on a main, busy road and looked cheap and tacky. We were told that our room was not ready so had to go for a walk around in the sweltering heat and leave our luggage in a unlocked, unsupervised room. We had booked a studio which was very basic. Use the switch for the air con - balcony overlooking pool, but very small. Sunbeds were all taken by towels by 7.30am! Pool area very small.

Maid service very poor and at a very unsuitable time of between 5 - 5.30 every night just when we had come back from the beach (absolutely gorgeous) and needed a shower. Didn't use the pool at all as there were never any free beds and was full of kids bombing! Hotel staff were most unhelpful and obviously thought that their faces would crack if they smiled! We asked to have a late checkout when we arrived and were told that the hotel was fully booked and our room was not available. On our day of leaving we spoke to a lovely elderly woman who told us that she had paid extra for her room the night before to keep her room till 6pm! So much for no rooms available. We were told that there was a shower room to change - we were directed to some dingy outdoor toilets down some stairs at the side of the pool where there was a shower cubicle with curtain and public toilets - I'm sorry, but I'm not going to shower and change where everyone can see me!

All that said the beach was absolutely gorgeous, lovely sun bed attendant and pineapple man who advised us not to come in August as this is when the Portugese all holiday in the Algarve. Large supermarket and a few restaurants and bars only 5 mins away with the main strip approx 10 mins away, lovely Italian just along from supermarket - cant remember the name (it has an outside terrace) El Rancho at beginning of strip was fantastic too - lovely staff and delicious food - cook your own on a hot stone. Weather was fantastic although it did get rather windy at night around 10 ish.

Would definitely go back to the Algarve but never to these apts - they need some new staff and an overhaul!
