The hotel is in good location, close enough to the shops and walking distance to only during the day though. The staff were really nice and friendly and always willing to chat since I was on my own. The rooms are spacious and clean but the bathroom needed an update. If the review stopped there, I would be more than happy to recommend but room service come around and try and clean the room at eight in the morning, 2 days in a row. I stayed 4 nights and was out early the first 2 mornings so it didnt bother me but the other 2 mornings, I was in for over an hour trying to sleep through all the noise of the carts. Housekeeping then come around another 2 or 3 times during the day which can be quite annoying. If they cleaned the rooms after 10, no complaints about the property.

After a lovely flight with british airways, we landed to a spectacular view of table mountain. After dropping of our cases we went into the waterfront. This is a fantastic area with various restaurants, some open air, at surprisingly good prices. The setting is fantastic here and the shopping is amazing, with really unusual clothes at great prices. Later on that evening we were hosted to a lovely dinner at the table bay hotel restaurant. This was just a short walk to the waterfront. There are 239 rooms with various views. Even numbers are mountain facing. Odd numbers are robben island/table bay facing. All types of rooms are excellent. Fridges and disabled facilities are available. 230-530 High teas are available. The hotels get very busy in january and december as this is peak season. It is important to know that it is very cold in the evening and very windy. So you need a warm jacket. You should also take binoculars on the trips in case you miss something.

It is advisable to save some money for the airport as there are some lovely ethnic shops. We had a fantastic guide on our tour of capetown and we had a trip up table mountain on a cable car which rotated. The view waspectacular. In the evening we went to the cullinan hotel. It was of particular interest to me as I knew quite a few people that had been. It is a lovely colonial style hotel. It has been partly refurbished with modern furnishings. The dinner was buffet- style, but this was welcomed as a lot of the dinners are waiter served. In the afternoon it was raining, so we found a fantastic shopping mall near the centre with excellent dining facilities. In the evening, we went to the gold museum for a tour . We joined in the drumming, and had some fantastic entertainment, with fabulous costumes. The food was ethnic south african and was excellent.

After breakfast we went on a winelands tour. This was very well organised. We tasted wine at each stop. The scenery was stunning at each tasting and each one was different and in a stunning location. We purchased the wine at reasonable prices.

The next day we drove through the exclusive suburbs of bantry bay and camps bay. The tour guide was excellent filling us in with many historical details along the way.We went to duiker island, and queued to board the ferry, to see the seals and cormorants. We got soaked and very windy. The photo opportunities were fantastic. The seals were huddled on the rock or playing all around the boat. As we disembarked, there was a south african band all dressed in gold to meet us.
