Stayed over Christmas. This was supposed to be a real treat as we had never been away for Christmas before. It was certainly memorable but for all the wrong reasons! Food apalling, rooms leaked when it rained, bar lights switched off at 11pm whether you had finished your drinks or not! Awful, awful, awful!!!! Wish we'd believed the reviews and cancelled!

Where do I start rooms very basic and not clean bed linen only changed once in the 2weeks we were there towels changed every 2 days but new towels were stained. We had to go to the reception and ask for toilet rolls as staff didnt leave any There was no air conditioning in the hotel or rooms we had to hire a fan at 12 euro's, the fridge didnt work properly it took 3 days for our water to chill. WE WERE ALL INCLUSIVE WELL SUPPOSED TO BE The food was terrible only 2 choices and the food was cold salad was dry and some of the food was re-cooked the following day chicken was full of grease, lots of meatballs had 3 times in one week only yogurts, mousse or jelly for deserts, basket full of fruit apples & banana's were bruised and didnt look nice at all. We were going on a trip so asked for a packed lunch we received a " ham and cheese sandwich on dry bread 3 yogurts each and a bottle of water!!" disgusting why would we want 3 yogurts each? or dry bread Even though we were all inclusive we had to pay for the burgers at the pool bar and staff kept disappearing. We ate out more than we ate in There was no entertainment at all when you went into the bar for a drink at night the staff were not there as they were clearing the dinning room and kitchen after evening meal had to keep calling them. There were ants in the terrace dinning room, and were on all the crockery and cutlery one morning they were going to take just a few that had ants on but another holiday maker said No all of them need cleaning That same night we were in the bar with a couple of holiday makers having a drink when an exterminator came in with a mask and gloves and chemical spray he then went into dining room where he started to spray the chemical spray but none of the crockery or cutlery was removed from the room then he came into the bar area and was spraying while we were all in the bar he was wearing a mask and gloves never asked us to leave just carried on spraying the chemical.

Caleta de fuste is a lovely resort lovely places to eat out and good entertainment lovely clean beach great trips

This hotel looks like it was built in the early 1970's and nothing has been maintained since. The rooms are tired, the baths rusty and generally not all that clean. We went for a weeks all-inclusive and only paid £280 each so you could say we got we you paid for - anymore it's definitely not worth it. The food is spanish, of questionable quality and there are only 2 choices. Rooms are cleaned twice a week, bedding every 7 days. The pool area is nice but the chemicals in the pool caused chlorine burns to our son. The bar service is intermittant and it is not uncommon to open 40 minutes late and for the bartender to disappear for 20 minutes at a time. There is no entertainment of any kind. There is no air conditioning so the rooms stay hot, you can hire fans at 30 euro's per week if available. If you get it for peanuts be realistic in your expectations and you might have a decent week if you set your sights low.

We've just spent one week all inclusive at the La Tahona Gardens. Starting with the complex it's self, the apartments were dingy and drab, in need of at least a lick of paint or a complete refurbishment(probably not been touched for at least five years). There was rust on the light fittings and we could'nt put the fridge fully under the worktop because the electric ring looked like it melted the top of the fridge , the pool it's self was okay, but some of the tiles around the pool were cracked or missing, again the whole complex was DESPERATELY in need of rebfurbishment.

The food, well that was very poor, very little choice and what there was, was basic to say the least, with dessert being a choice between little pots of ice-cream or a piece of cake. The snacks at the bar were a plate of fly covered mini pastries !!?. Last but definitely not the least. The staff, we found the staff(well thats if you could find someone)friendly and polite, there was only about five staff on at any one time if you were lucky, and the bar staff had to keep disappearing(not their fault though)to do other jobs around the complex. Actually the bar staff were the best part of La Tahona Gardens,

certainly not a family destination and DEFINITELY NOT worth a 3 star rating.

We have just returned from a ";holiday"; at La Tahona Garden Apartments and despite being informed by the holiday company that it had a 3 star rating it was in fact a 2 key rating (does that mean the same as 2 star?).

We paid for an all inclusive holiday(over £700 per person for 2 weeks) but found that the standard of food, service and cleanliness left a lot to be desired. The food was so bad we ate out every day and spent over £1000 between the five of us.

Basic health and safety requirements in our opinion were ignored around the poolside area (cracked and loose tiles, steps missing from pool ladders)and the poolside furniture in general disrepair.

Service at the bar was intermittent (we waited 45 minutes at one stage for a bar person to return from wherever!).

We did try and get alternative accommodation but were told by our local Med Hotels rep that the resort was full and this was confirmed when we called in at nearby hotels ourself.

The resort itself is very good with plenty to see and do and we would certainly return there.

We are not fussy, hard to please, awkward people and have never felt it necessary to complain in all our years of holiday travel before, but quite honestly in our opinion the La Tahona Garden Apartments should never have been sold to us as a ";holiday destination";. Be warned!
