"this is not a fiesta hotel anymore!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Since this hotel has been taken over by the grupo chain! Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere. Disgusting food, rowdy, staff pig ignorant, see my full review on trip advisor (Yorkshire jane)

"good hotel"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The rooms in this hotel are very basic and reminded me of a cheap apartment bedroom from years ago, which is not great as it's not cheap. And after reading the reviews above I have to say that I don't think the rooms are cleaned well at all. Our balcony wasn't swept or mopped for 2 weeks and the bath wasn't cleaned greatly either, bed making was the top cover pulled over, didn't matter what the sheets were like.
The pool is far too small for a huge hotel like this, the sunbeds are packed together in tight rows and some of them were a bit knackered really and a bit uncomfortable, (I only lay by the pool for 1 hour in 2 weeks).
The pool area is very very busy and hard to get a bed as they all have towels on even though no-one is lying on them even though the hotel say this can't happen they do nothing about it, (as the hotel is right on the beach with no gates or security. I was convinced that some of the people around the pool weren't even staying there!)
The pool is very deep which is mentioned above and was jam packed with lilo's, there were 8 in there when I was by the pool so you couldn't really get in to cool off and it was boiling, even though again the hotel say 'no inflatable’s in the pool' there are fiesta staff around the pool but they just let anything happen.

Overall Hotel Rating:
This Hotel has been consistent over the past 5 years. Drinks deal available at Reception is excellent value. Is in need of a coat of paint in places. Staff work very hard. Entertainment good and varied. Would recommend as it is in a good position and right on the beach. Murphys Bar is not to be missed, best after 11.00pm. Also try the small british Bar/Restaurant on the beach walk between the Hotel and the boat landing. Thier home cooked pies and fish and chips are excellent.

"Fiesta Algarb review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Our arrival at the Hotal Algarb did not get off to a great start due to Reception giving us a room someone else was already asleep in! At 5am in the morning and being walked up and down the hotel to find a room, we were glad to get into any room and finally ended up in one on the 1st floor.
HOTEL
The hotel can only be described as something belonging to the 70's and desperately needs a refurbishment. Situated opposite Burger King and KFC and on a busy road, it is not the most family friendly of hotels if you have small children.
ROOMS
Our room again, was in need of a refurb. The bathroom appeared brand new and the air con worked really well, but everything else was very basic and shabby. You even have to leave a deposit to get a TV remote.
POOL
The pool area is far too small for a hotel of that size (6 storey's I think)and sun beds are reserved every single day by the mass groups of extremely rude Italians that seem to dominate not only the hotel, but the resort. The children's pool is tiny and the main pool is extremely deep and not suitable for children. The pool area leads directly onto the beach which also means the hotel is subject to people wandering off the beach and using the pool facilities.
FOOD
The food is the only saving grace of this hotel, it really is fantastic, even better than some 4 star hotels we've stayed in. Food is plentiful, hot and has plenty of variety, although children who who like 'fast food' may find themselves eating pizza and chips all week as they are not really catered for.
RESORT
The resort is relatively small and consists of bars and shops. We spent most of our time in Big Bens just over the road from the hotel, as every other bar seemed to charge silly prices for drinks and were all full of snooty Italians. We also liked the Sports Bar near to the hotel. We sometimes ate at Oasis, just over the road from the Sports Bar which is an English Cafe/Restaurant and very reasonable. The beaches look lovely but can be full of jellyfish, several people got stung whilst we were there. A ship had also recently sunk and people were coming out of the sea covered in oil.
Not sure that Playa D'en Bossa was for me, as it seemed full of people glammed up looking to impress other people. Wearing 6 inches of makeup and 3 inch heels when sunbathing aren't really my thing!!!

"Fiesta Algarb review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The hotel is very big and quite impressive when you first see it but it badly needs renovation inside.
The rooms are medium sized but are very basic for the price the holiday companies are chargeing, maid service was ok but our balcony wasn't cleaned or even swept for 14 days and the bath was always left dirty, the beds were made but just by putting the top cover neat, sheets were left as they were when we got out of bed.
At present there is a huge building site on the airport side of the hotel which is the view currently from the balonies and it was a huge chore to get moved to the other side, the Thomson reps response was that someone has to look at it!!
The food is nice and we were half board and even over 14 days it never got repetitive, the restaraunt staff are lovely!
Ther are only 3 lifts for hundreds of rooms so expect to wait and one of the lifts only carries 3 people ?
The pool area is far to small, (pool) and it is very deep with only a tiny bit of shallow, the sunbeds are crammed together in lines and some of them look 10 years old and were moulded into body shapes!
The pool was full of lilo's and basically so full of them you couldn't really get in it, lots of groups diving in and a bit busy really, the pool is right next to the beach which is nice but it appeared as if anyone could have walked into the hotel grounds and used the pool. The sunbeds were all had towels on yet only about 50% of them had people lying on them.
There are stairs down to the pool area so less mobile be warned, you have to walk right around the hotel to get down there!
Reception staff were very nice and very helpful.
The walls of the hotel are really thin and it was very noisy
A lot of the hotel guests are all inclusive so the don't budge from the hotel for their holiday duration which really bugged me.
There is a bus service into Ibiza town as described in the brochures but in 2 weeks the bus never stopped for us a sit was so full by the time it got to the Algarb, it is about 2 kilometres walk into town and I prefer walking so i didn't mind but not good for kids and the less mobile etc
Playa Den Bossa is ok but it really is just a long street of Apartments, hotels shops and bars but very purpose built and not for me, I used to go all the time 10 years ago and it was nice then but it has been spoilt a bit now and when we were there is was full of stags and hens who were ok but not for everyone.
I would not go back to the hotel Algarb and I know I sound like a bit of a pain but the holiday cost a lot with Thomson and it just wasn't good enough, the Thomson rep was very scarce and a total waste of space when she was there, shame really, they used to be good!
Hire a car and see Ibiza yourself, it is really small island and has some beautiful spots, try Cala Bassa beach and visit Portinax, Gorgeous!
Formentara is a must, best day we had and there is a boat goes twice daily from most resorts and the boat company will tewll you were to go etc.
P.s. we went to the hippy market and it was good but there were no hippies?

"Fiesta Algarb review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Second time to this hotel, and not much has changed. Went 2 years ago, and enjoyed it, but his time the kids were bored, so won't be going again. There is a mini disco for them at night for about half an hour and that's it. Evening entertainment has gone down considerably since last time, economy drive i guess. reps did most of the entertaining, some better than others.hotel is stil clean and tidy, rooms made up every day, towels changed every day.People still packed like sardines round the pool, luckily we preferred the shade under the trees, so did like the germans and put our towels there every day, (if you can't beat them!!).lovely that the beach is down a few steps, although sunbeds and umbrella expensive. child's pool nice but too small, big pool goes deep quickly so not suitable for everyone.
playa d'en bossa itself was better than i imagined, thought there'd be loads of young ones 'dealing drugs' on every corner, but it was nothing like that. quite a lot to do, bowling, mini golf, fair for the kids, amusement park with trampolines etc. so not bad for a week, any longer and we'd have been struggling.
so if you've booked here don't panic, you'll have a fine time, but if you haven't booked and you've got kids, i'd seriously consider going to a hotel that has more for the kids, maybe try the superfamily hotel in the resort, looks posh, but i'm sure it would be great. Also we found the weather a bit too hot, would consider going on holiday a couple of weeks earlier next year to see if it ould be a touch cooler. (are we ever happy ??!!)

Overall Hotel Rating:
This was our second visit to this hotel,we booked again because we enjoyed our first holiday there.
We think they must have gone on an economy drive since our last visit.Service around the pool was non existant if you wanted a drink it meant queing at the pool bar.The main bar was closed untill 6.00 pm so if you wanted a cup of coffee in a china cup you were out of luck ,polystyrene was the order of the day.Waiter service during the evening was not much better, there were just two waiters who were run of their feet.Once again this ment queing at the bar. We had paid for the all-inclusive drinks option but when we went to the bar for drinks, it was as if we were invisible, everybody holding cash was served before us,I expect they see the wristband and think ";no tip here then";.
We also thought it was a competition to see how many sunbeds you could cram into a small area. Once you were on your sunbed and the other sunbeds were occupied it was almost impossible to get to the pool or anywhere else for that matter. The last time we were there it was a good mix of people, young, not so young, families etc but this time ther were large groupe of singles, mainly French,Italian Spanish,German. They were not rowdy or badly behaved but it just made us feel like couple of fish out of water.
Last but not least,as the weekend before we arrived the weather had been bad the entertainment was moved inside so if you didnt get there early you could not get a seat. The weather did improve but they never moved it back outside. We both smoke so we just sat outside and missed the entertainment( our choice of course}Maybe we just picked the wrong time of year as the last time we went it was June.
For a nice cup of coffee and a delicious pastry try the little pasteleria accross the road.
The public rooms and bedrooms are very nice, maid service is excellant, food very good plenty of choice.
Would not go back. This year we are going cruising!

Overall Hotel Rating:
After reading reviews about the Algarb, we were really looking forward to our holiday. It was my first visit to Ibiza, but others had previously been to Santa Eulalia.
The Hotel was disappointingly shabby, rooms were not overly clean, and the whole Hotel seemed to be leaking ! ( problems with the air conditioning).
Lift provison was TOTALLY inadequate, and placing all the Wheelchair bound, and pesons and persons with walking difficulties on floors 1 and 2 was pointless, because it was virtually impossible to get the lift to stop at those floors--- too many lazy 20 odd year olds on floors 4/5/and 6 who couldnt even walk DOWN the stairs!!
The Food was excellent, our only complaint being that the restaurant staff were VERY slow to clear plates away at both Breakfast and Dinner.
Daytime entertainment was great for anybody who wanted to join in, and the staff were superb. Evening Shows were quite amateurish, but 10/10 for enthusiasm!
Playa Den Bossa was a real disappointment, we had a Wheelchair, and the pavements are not Whelchair friendly, nor was the Hotel!
A visit to Santa Eulalia confirmed that we definitely chose the wrong resort!!
Playa den Bossa suits youngsters who wants to sleep all day and make a lot of noise at night. There were drug dealers on every corner, and it was quite menacing at times!!
I cannot understand how clients return to the Algarb, the staff were great, but somewhere along the line standards ( in everything but the excellent food) have slipped from what I would normally be used to from Portland and Fiesta!
"Fiesta Algarb review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The hotel was quite nice and spacious like an average 3* really and seemed pretty clean, despite the chairs and couches being a little worn...
On first impressions our room seemed clean and was nice and cool because of the air conditioning. We did notice that the bathroom wasn't as clean as it should've been and it did smell a bit stae near the toilet as if it hadn'tbeen properly cleaned.
Sunbathing area was nice and spacious and we didn't have a problem finding a bed.. there's also an area around the side of the hotel which gets shaded around lunchtime so is good for a nap! It was a little cramped and getting from sunbed to pool required shuffling around other sunbathers. The pool is far too small and ridiculously deep with barely any shallow end making it very difficult to relax in the water, you either put up with kids jumping around you or you have to swim.
Fortunately the beach is nearby but its worth walking for five minutes in either direction for a nicer patch of sea.
The food in the hotel was pretty good tho it always gets repetitive on half board. Good choice most days. Drinks weren't too expensiive either.
The negative about this hotel include clothes being taken ";accidentally"; from our room, which we never got back.
Also on our last day after checking out we placed all our valuables in an envelope in the hotel safe until we were due to leave. We asked for them back and just before we left I realised my phone was missing. Fortunately when I asked them to check the safe at reception it was found, but if anyone can explain to me how a phone can take itself out of a sealed envelope with an elastic band around it...... hmmm.
The resort itself is pretty poor and not much going on untill after 12am, unless you're a clubber that is. We caught the bus to San Antonio a couple of times as the atmosphere seemed much friendlier there, despite our camera and purse being pickpocketed (this had happened to three other people we spoke to). Beware of the ";free"; party bus.. it isn't but it was only about 2euros each.
Ibiza town is lovely and worth the walk up all the steps, we only went at night tho it was too hot in the day! Local buses are easy enough to catch and cheap but you won't get a seat!

"Fiesta Algarb review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We just came back from a wonderful holiday at the Algarb on Saturday and I must admit I was gutted to come home!
The hotel was lovely and the maid service was excellent. Everywhere was so clean. The sunbeds weren't all taken by 10am so it was nice to get a spot in the sun without hurrying. The food was gorgeous - too nice as I feel I've put on about a stone! I'm a fussy vegetarian and I always found something to suit. There was live cooking as well as a buffet and staff were willing to cook just about anything if you ask nicely.
My only complaints would be about drinks - we were half board and expected to get at least one glass of water with a meal but we had to buy all drinks from the bar with meals. The only exception was breakfast, where drinks machines are switched on. I made friends with some Swiss lads on the holiday who were all inclusive and even they had to sign for every drink they had and got some suspicious looks when they got me the occasional coke. I think staff should give us more value for money and switch on the drinks machines for every meal. If they're less strict, more people might turn up for the entertainment programme too. Such was good for the first 3 days (parrot show/miss algarb/men vs women, etc) and then turned typically caberet with a drag queen and cliched shows. Before this, there was bingo or a mini disco every night.
The hotel was situated in a perfect location - right on the beach which was lovely and not too crowded in that area. My parents thought D'en Bossa might've been a concrete jungle and this could be the case if you weren't near the sea. However, I'm sure people would complain more if there were no amenities. There was plenty to do near the hotel - clubs, Pizza Hut/Burger King/KFC, bars, a bungee jump, bowling and a waterpark. The nightlife was good - my favourites were Top 21 (top 21 english songs and lots of booze), Murphys and Bar Coco. However, if you prefer a quieter holiday there are trips going to Formentera, Es Cana, etc regularly. The entertainment team were friendly and organised aerobics every morning and water polo, pool, etc thereafter.
I'd definitely go back to the Hotel Algarb and I'd recommend it to others. I've been to Ibiza (Portinatx) before but this was in a league of It's own. Have fun!

"Fiesta Algarb review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Overall a good holiday. The hotel is comfortable and is a good 3* accommodation. Hotel bedrooms are a bit small and dated but cleaned to a high standard and any maintenance required is swiftly dealt with. All rooms have a side or full sea view.
Food was in abundance - something for everyone and to a good standard (the first time I haven't felt the need to skip dinner and go out to a local restaurant).
Resort is a bit 'tacky' but do take a walk or taxi into Ibiza Town or Figueritas which are both lovely.
Downside - unfortunately the reception and bar staff were, to say the least, desperately in need of retraining in customer service. The bar staff were positively rude! Other downside was the hotel was pretty noisy at night. The walls between rooms were thin! However the hotel does address any major noise issues occuring after midnight.
The entertainment staff work tirelessly to entertain guests, although a bit low budget, very good fun.
Another upside is the hotel is only a short distance from the airport, so no long transfers. Aircraft flying over the hotel are more of an interest than an inconvenience.
"Fiesta Algarb review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We had a fantastic time here in Ibiza. The hotel was great and their were lots of activities for people of all ages provided by the entertainment team. We thought that the entertainment team were excellent and worked very hard to entertain every holiday maker what ever their language. The shows they put on were FAB! So their was plenty to do before the clubs opened!
Garbi's was the place to go for many of the residents at the hotel including the entertainers! as it was very local and included free entry and a free cocktail but that was only for girls! There was also Big Ben's for the guys who wanted English beer and those who like karaoke! The bull bar was also very good if your up for a laugh on that!
The hotel itself was excellent and kept very clean. The pool was of good size, quite deep but a small pool was available for children. The beach was also clean and their was plenty of space. This was also not a problem around the pool at this time of year, it was easy to get a sunbed without having to get up early! The rooms were quite small but clean and tidy.
Overall the holiday was a great success and we would definately return there, only one bad thing to mention was that if you have a parrot photo taken their is no way of getting your money back if you do not like the photos! However this was not the hotel staff's fault as they worked very hard trying to help us sort this out.
I would definately reccomend this hotel/resort! :)
