"best hotel ever"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just returned from 1 week at the Los Fariones Hotel. This is one of the best Spanish Hotels I have sayed in and can only think that the adverse comments were from other accomodation of which there are a few under the name of Fariones offering self catering and not the Los Fariones Hotel. My hotel stay was half board and everything was near perfect. Recepion,Bar staff, waiters, cleaners could not be more helpful. The rooms have views to die for. Who can fail to be impressed waking up to the sea lapping on the small private beach with a view through superb gardens and plam trees. Food: more than enough choice and quality from the breakfast or luch buffet. Dinner is A la carte which would grace many top London restraunts.

Overall Hotel Rating:
Booked privately through member of family superb complex. Only a small complex of privately owned apartments in a great location,10 minute walk to the main strip but far enough back from the noise.
A lovely pool area all maintained and kept very clean.

"Los Fragosos review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We booked these privately owned apartments through Lets go Canaries (small Nottingham based agent) - Whole process really smooth and easy. We booked our own transfer arrangements from the airport to apartments, and we did this on line with Canaltravel based in Arrecife. They were superb, there to greet us and even early for our return flight. Worth paying that little extra for.
The apartments were really great, the pool lovely and well kept. Couldn't fault anything.
Puerto del carmen itself isn't much at all. If you do venture down to the front to eat drink and be merry, watch your bill. We found most of the restaurants there added things on and hiked prices up more than advertsied on the menu. The old town and harbour area are definately the best places to eat and drink in.
If you can - hire a car. Well worth it. We paid £130 Euros for 3 days and got to see everything we wanted to on the island. Playa Blanca is a lovely place to spend the day if you enjoy beaches as it has a beautiful one there. The one at Puerto Del Carmen is not that great, so it's worth the extra money to visit elsewhere.
If you have a late flight home, and your holiday agent can store your cases for you, make your way to the Fariones Sports Centre. It's a lovely place to spend your last day. It's 8 Euros each, with heated outdoor pool, restaurant etc and you just don't feel lik you're waiting around if you go there. We'dve spent more time there had we known about it earlier.
Try the honey Rum - canarian tipple - mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!!
All in All I enjoyed Lanzarote and would go back to visit in a few years time - just not Puerto Del carmen!!
