The Gran Vista is a excellent hotel. The pool area is in gardens with tree's giving shade so no need to hunt down a umbrealla. There is 2 pools one has pools on different levels with water falls and another pool close to the garden entrance, they are both excellent. There is a free spa and fitness centre which I didn't try but heard it was very good. The garden pool is suitable for very young children with 2 gently sloping walk in areas's. There is 3 baby pools in the hotel.

The rooms are lovely and spotless, there is a 20"; TV that has BBC1, BBC2 and ITV. There is no bath but a lovely walk in shower. There is plenty of storage space. If you email the hotel and ask for pool view room on a high floor you get a wonderful view of the pool area right down to the sea. These rooms are quieter than the rooms on the other side because of the coaches coming and going doing drop offs and pick ups.

The food was good and they done different themed nights, desserts where plentiful with really nice cakes, cream cakes, cakes with fruit on, fruit and ice cream. Breakfast had a good selection, egg, bacon, beans and the hot dog style saugage. Cold meats and cheese, cererals, buns, cakes and more. You can eat your breakfast and dinner on the outside terrace. For late arrivals the dinning room has dishes available and for early leavers the dinning room is open from 3am to 7am with a small buffet.

The bars. There is a main bar in the hotel and there is a roof top vista bar that gives lovely views over the resort and the sea. You can see wonderful sunsets from the roof top bar. Bar prices were cheaper than the british bars in the resort. On arrival you are gioven a card to use to credit purchases to your room, drinks at dinner, bar and snack bar. I found it very useful if i were short of cash which meant I didn't have to run off to the atm to top up funds. Enertainment was ok with tribute bands on different nights.

The location of the hotel is excellent on a small side road off the main road, very quiet. The beach is 300 meters across a main which is no problem because when you come out of the hotel to the main road there is a traffic light crossing. You walk in a straight line and the centre of the resort is on the way to the beach. The is sandy and slopes gently into the sea which suitable children.

I highly rate this hotel and would recommend the hotel to anybody looking for quality accommodation. The hotel is a thomson platinum hotel and deserves to be classed as a platinum hotel. I am very fussy and often find fault with accommodation I have stayed in but this hotel I coulnd't find anything wrong. The hotel is new this year in thomson summer sun brochure. There are apartments in the complex as well and talking to people staying in them said they are lovely and better than other apartments they have stayed in.

I believe I have given a honest discription of the hotel.

Anybody wanting a good quality at a reasonable price give this one a try.

First the good bits the hotel is one of the best 4 star I have stayed in. Everything is kept in pristine condition, there are 3 dinning rooms all leading off the buffet area, there is also an outside dinning area. The food is very good the waiters are excellent and on the ball. We had a lunch time meal at the bar near the pool which again was very good. There are 3 pools and a childrens pool, the one near the bar seems mainly for adults but the other two are nicer for the children as they both have a walk in shallow bit. We stayed in the apartments brill. They have kettles. microwaves and a toaster are very spacious and tastefully designed with large varanders with reclining chairs with cushions on. Nice if kids need a lunch time snack. The hotel has large grounds and tennis courts. The inside pool is brill with whirlpools ect. If you leave the hotel you have to cross a main road to get onto the main thoroughfare to take you down to the prom, this is fine as there is a crossing straight outside the hotel. My 2 gripes, the highchairs are only suitable for dolls, a lot of them dont have restraining straps and none of them have trays. They are all made of wicker these are dangerous and need scrapping. I thought as this was Thomsons TU they should have to conform to acceptable safety standards.

This hotel is 98% german, all the entertainment is in German, the childrens club is in German and the only english child we met was asked to reconsider joining as all the other children were German and she would feel left out. We only met 3 other English speaking families the whole week.

On the whole a brill hotel and I would return.

This hotel is mainly geared towards germans. All of the signs in the hotel are in german.Staff spoke poor english. The food is dreadful.Every thing is raw.We filled up with bread and cheese.A lot of the food was typical german. The tables are rarely cleared - one night we cleared a table for ourselves !!!The kids club was out of bounds - because again it was 98% german. Not a great choice if you are not of german origin.
