Safe beach for children.Sun beds expensive at 14euoro a day for 2 beds & parasol. Resort was quiet at night so not the place if you like it lively. Plenty of shops selling much the same souveniers.

Lovely for a beach holiday. Beach fairly safe and clean except for seaweed in parts. Scruffy in parts. Shops were close by but streets very uneven for disabled scooter access although the promanade great except in evening as electric scooter bikes and electric cars are everywhere.

Very good beach, clean and perfect for swimming/sunbathing. Some bars, restaurants and shops along an impressive promenade. In the evenings had to keep alert to avoid electric scooters and childrens cars. No places of note to visit nearby although some boat trips were offered. Some local entertainment offered in old town, two festivals while we were there. Strangely the rep at the hotel didn't mention this.

"Great beach but lacks local flavour"

Overall Resort Rating:

Good

Open quote

Sa Coma is a small resort on the east coast of the island - about an hours drive from Palma. We were really pleased with the beach - it's a lovely long stretch of golden sand with clear blue water and a very gentle tide - great for swimming. Sun beds available for hire but they're a bit on the pricey side at 14 euros a day for 2 plus a sun shade. We bought a couple of lilos and a parasol from the shop by the beach and used these to lounge around on - much cheaper. It gets very busy but we always found a decent space every day, so no worries there. There is a promenade running the length of the beach - great for evening walks (but watch out for young kids on motorised bikes and beach buggies - we saw a few near misses!). You can also hire pedal-powered carts that can hold 4 or 5 people - perfect for families who want to ride around the resort at a gentle pace. We weren't massively impressed with the range of bars and restaurants - they seemed geared towards the Brits who want egg and chips rather than people who might be looking for authentic Spanish food. Shame. There are markets some evenings and the place comes alive then - plenty of stalls selling local specialities and hand crafted goods. Everyone was friendly and there was a good vibe. We didn't experience any problems at all - really family friendly resort. Definitely don't go there if you are looking for wild nights out with loads of clubs and bars though!!

As we were all inclusive i cannot pass comment on cost of food or drink or nightlife, we had everything we needed in that respect at the hotel. Sa Coma has quite a large beach with lovely clean sand ideal for making sandcastles...the sea is quite shallow for a bit then deep enough to swim, it was quite choppy compared to say Alcudia bay. Watersports included parasailing, banana boat and peddalo's.

This is a family friendly resort with plenty to see and do. A good selection of bars, shops and restaurants which are reasonably priced. The promenade along the beach is excellent and safe for children. If you are happy to take a stroll you can walk into s'illot (the two resorts run into each other) or to Cala Millor which is a slightly longer walk through the nature reserve. Generally a tidy resort with welcoming locals.
