"Good stay"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Reading the reviews prior to going I was concerned. Thankfully in reality I was pleasantly surprised. Rooms lovely and clean, maid service almost every day. Still can't understand the deposit requirement for the room but you did get it back at the end. The water was a bit hit and miss in the appartment e.g. a very small tank so went cold quickly and was at times a very small stream of water. The pool was beautifully clean and pool bar excellent. Had breakfast / toasties there most days as freshly cooked and not greasy. Better than most places outside of the Hotel. The coffee fantastic!!! Several people went to celebrate a 50th Birthday and were not disappointed.

"Stayed a few times"
Overall Hotel Rating:
I've stayed in Oro Blanco a few times and will be staying there again in December 2011,
First time i staid it was in May, there were 4 of us two couples, Second time was in June,4 Adults and 5 kids. Both times we enjoyed our stay there and found the staff very friendly even the security guard was friendly although no noise after a certain time but he just laughed when we jumped in pool at 3am one nite and politely asked us to get out.
The hotel as stated is local to everything, the hotel bar closes early but i doubt they would get much customers as most head out at night. I reccommend getting a safe as i would in witchever hotel you stay in, in any country.
The pr's can be annoying but once your used to them you can get good discounts don't be afraid to barter for extra drinks for them to get you in.
Wigan Pier has a great drag artist called Chrystal and the food in there was great, when we were in Tenerife in January this year( stayed in Las floritas just up the street great hotel)
The Ladies of the night tend not to bother couples just single guys and the odd time myself and son-inlaw passed them on our own they took no for an answer and even joked about.
Nomatter what hotel you stay in you got to visit Siam Park and Loro Parque, boat trips to see Dolphins and Whales are good also.
So don't let the bad reviews stop you booking Oro Blanco, from reading some of the bad ones i guess these people wouldn't be happy in 10*.
Anyone on holiday from Dec 9th to 23rd 2011, just look for the Irish lot in the Wigan Pier and come have a drink( or ten)

"Awesome Hotel... defo recommended :) "
Overall Hotel Rating:
After reading all the reviews from other people, needless to say i was expecting the worse. On arrival, we were met by very friendly staff, and we were very impressed by the apartment and the size of it! There was 4 of us girls on holiday, and the apartment could have slept 8 comfortably. We had 3 balconies, one from the living room, and one with each bedroom. I have been on holidays a few times to various different places and hotels and have never been this impressed with the rooms. Yes, they are very basic rooms, but what do u expect from a 2-3 star hotel, but VERY spacious. There was always plenty of sun loungers by the pool, and the hotel suited everyone, families, couples etc. The poolside bar was great, and also had lovely food there... we ate there most days, and very reasonable price. The hotel is about a 10min walk to the veronicas strip which is great as the hotel is not noisy, but also not too far to walk to. We were told byt the security guard to be quiet as we entered the hotel from a night out, but i dont blame him as people have got to think of others whilst on holidays! We didnt have any problems with cockroaches or ants as ive read in previous reviews. The maids were very friendly too, and our room was cleaned 3-4 times in the week that we stayed there, making sure we had plenty of clean towels and toilet rolls etc!!! All in all, i was very impressed by the hotel and will return to stay in this hotel again. :) :)

"Dreadful place, not recommended"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Would not go back again. Receptionist very rude, When we arrived on 11th Feb 2011 we were given apt overlooking main road which was extremely noisy, Asked to be moved and on Tues, 15th Feb were moved overlooking the pool. much quieter but during stay, people coming in at all hours and could be heard throwing up in toilet and shouting. Towels changed once in 10 days and that was when asked to do so. sheets never changed and beds only dressed very poorly, bottom sheet not even straightened up. Overall was very disappointed with apts, area and resort.

"Great week in the sun"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Stayed here in June 2010 on a lad's holiday. We booked a 2 bedroom apartment between the 4 of us and were very impressed with the size of the room.
Location is ideal, 5 minute walk to the Starco centre with Linekers, Mett Bar etc and also numerous shops and restaurants.

Very friendly staff. In the bar the man in the mornings is the best doing food. At night the bar was really poor, Karaoke is too basic. The hotel need change some conditions for future. But at the end lovelly time there.

"Holiday 2010"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We went to the oro blanco on the 18th june 2010 for 2 weeks. There was 6 of us in the group with ages from 19-28, all i can say that it was fantastic, the room was excellent, large enough for all 6 of us..2 bedrooms had balconys and a main one in the living room area. The hotel was clean and kept tidy thoroughout the day. Around the pool was good, plenty of sun loungers for everyone, pool bar was great serving drinks and snacks, staff around the pool were lovely. Hotel in a great location, just a 10 minute walk from the veronica strip. Only downside for some reason you had to be quiet after 12 midnight otherwise you would get reception staff comming out telling you to be quiet and you would get a warning against your room. Overall i would recomend this hotel and would defo consider going back.

"Good low cost accomodation - spot on. "
Overall Hotel Rating:
We have been to Tenerife six times and to the Oro Blanco twice before and are returning in September 2010 for our third visit to this basic but well run hotel.
The rooms are basic but clean, we have never seen a cockroach here and we have always had our room cleaned every day (except Sundays) with fresh bedding every couple of days and fresh towels every day (Just leave towels you want changing in the bath...). However, if you are still in bed or in the room at around 10.00am the maids will probably leave your room not done that day (the management seem to expect people to be out of bed at a reasonable hour....)
The location of the Oro Blanco is perfect in my opinion – close enough to the centre of PDLA for easy access to shops/bars/restaurants and beaches but far enough away to avoid noise from the likes of Veronicas.
On check-in it’s worth making a point of asking the receptionist for a balcony room (unless you booked a room which specifies “no balcony” of course) as there are some studios without balconies that face into a wall. Also, ALWAYS get a key for the safe in your room. Yes, it costs money, but it’s well worth the peace of mind. Remember, if items or money are stolen from your room, the hassle it causes can ruin what should have been a good holiday, and no amount of holiday insurance can compensate for that.
I can definitely recommend the Oro Blanco Apartments for singles, couples and groups and the "Club Oro Blanco" seems to be great for families (from conversations we had). If you want luxury – look somewhere else, but for basic good accommodation you can’t go wrong here. In this as well as most other things, “You gets what you pays for”

"Oro Robbed!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
At first we was very suprised with how friendly the staff were and how big the apartments were, cleanliness wasnt perfect but again wasnt bad.
First nights sleep was fine, We was going to Siam park the next morning so got up early and went, we had left our money hidden in the room and had forgotten our mobile phones, when we returned someone had been in the room, 2 mobiles were stolen 1 £400 phone and a £150 phone, also all our holiday money had been taken 750 euros and £130. Childs MP3 play had also been stolen, although a £500 chain and 100's of pounds worth of camera's had not been touched.
The door had not been broken so the culprit would have needed a key the hotel staff/manager at this time was useless, we had to go to the police which were also useless, we got back to the hotel and demanded a room change, for the rest of the holiday we had to carry all our valueables and any worth anything with us, at night we had to barracade the doors as the children were scared of someone coming in. This was such an awful experience for what would have been the best holiday.
For the rest of the holiday when we were out we set little traps which each time it seemed as someone had been in to the appartment, (cleaners had already been) but unfortunetly for them nothing other than clothes were left in the room.

"Pleasantly surprised"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We were a group of friends who were on holiday to celebrate our friend no longer being 49 (she was in denial!), anyway our group was 6 ladies ranging from 40 - 65. We had a great time, the weather was fab, the rooms were adequate and were cleaned regularly. I had read reviews before we went and I was a bit aprehensive, however there was really no need. One evening one of the group couldn't sleep and had sat out on the veranda and was a shocked at the antics on the main road, as it is right seems to be the local haunt for the ladies of the night!!! We were out most nights, (not on the road outside I must add), as the entertainment in the hotel was terrible, but it was November we were there, so I would hope there would be more on during the summer season and cater for families with kids. The bar staff are friendly and do the cooking and serving of drinks, and usually only 1 behind the bar, which means it takes a long time to be served, but they do make a mean Sangira well worth the wait!. Clean, friendly, cheap and cheerful - would go back

"Definitely not for the faint hearted!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
we stayed at this hotel for a week in December 2009, and would not recommend it at all. we were a group of 16 (familes & couples) looking for a relaxing break. the staff at the hotel were fab, very friendly & efficient. there was no entertainment and the pool bar closed at 12midnight. however you could hear the noise from every bar nearby which was a nightmare. also there is no air conditioning! which meant you had to keep the balcony doors open - hence the noise from neighbouring bars/complexes. Also there seemed to be a brothel at the altamar apartments - one of the guys actually got attacked by a 'pimp' when he refused to take advantage of the services on offer! overall i will definitely go back to tenerife, but not to Oro Blanco

"what a fab hoiday!!!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
we just got back from oro blanco last week, and we enjoyed staying at the appartments so much that we have already booked to go back next month.the hotel itself is excellent value for the money you pay, everyones really freindly and the pool atmosphere is great.yes there is a lot of noise at night time, not just the young adults, but much older people too who are just having as much fun,its not so bad that you cant sleep though.the bar should be self serve though coz the poor person is busy making and serving food as only one person works both parts, but when you do get served they are very aplogetic and very nice people.the 2 bed appartment we had was massive,2 huge bedrooms with dressing table and mirror in both,we even had a hallway,3 sets of patio doors, one for each room.only downfall was,the kitchen,we had to hire a microwave and a fan, totalling 35 euros and a 40 euro deposit.other than that we loved every part of it,the cleaners came every day but 1,we were there for 8 days.also the balcony we had overlooking the pool was huuuuge, room 132.have a good time if you decide to go.!
