"Happy family holiday"

I have had a happy 2 weeks in Bitez staying at the Imba. The place is ideal for families with the beach and restaurants close but also sufficiently away from the resort centre to allow relative peace and quiet. The apartments are roomy and and first appearance was very pleasing. Upon closer inspection you can see it would benefit from some tlc. The public areas are clean and fun, though if I'm overly critical would say lacking in charm. Don't get me wrong it's still great! It's major asset is the super view over the bay, which is really lovely. Meals were quality and allowed you take in the excellent view. The staff make the place very special with being friendly and fun but not overly intrusive. The apartment was clean upon arrival. However, apart from bins being emptied and the ocasional floor clean there wasn't much in the way of cleaning. This was fine though as I didn't mind maintaining the initial cleanliness and when you consider how cheap the apartment was it certainly provided excellent vfm. Bitez has a great beach for little children with gentle shallow sea and course sand for intrepid sandcastle builders! I would recommend it for anyone who is looking for an affordable though non luxory holiday!

15 of us stayed here for the first two weeks of September 2009. We really loved it. There are not too many steps we saw a lady staying there who needed to use walking sticks and she managed ok even though she had to take it slowly. It was not an issue for us and our oldest memebr is 67 and has had a knee replacement. The owners are really nice, the rooms are cleaned daily, they will tell you about any buses etc you want to know about. The supermarket downstairs is small but has all the basics you need and it isn't any more expensive than anywhere else. Self catering was a good option, the kitchen is really basic only 2 electric rings and a kettle and fridge but we managed ok. The pool area is small but still really nice for the kids, you can't take your own drinks or food there but the apartments are all near so it is no problem to pop back and get something out of your own fridge. The pool bar is not that unreasinable we always had a few drinks there most days. They do not mind you buying icecreams downstairs and eating them around the pool. The rooms are very basic but clean enough, and spacious. Really lovely views. We had a great time and would definetely go there again.

There were lots of steps and no lift but depending on the where you are situated, you would get over that. Elderly or disabled folk should not go there. We also had to pay for air conditioning when we got there as this was not included in the booking. The location was great and the bus to Bodrum stopped just outside. The beach and local restaurants were just a few minutes away. Great view!

Family of four 2 adults 2 daughters age 13 and 7. we decided to make this holiday an adventure by booking flight only with thomas cook and spending 1 wk in bitez and going on to altinkum for the next wk. we booked the Imba apartments with travel republic and cost £156 for 1 wk and what a bargain. we was in room205 with spectacular pool and sea views. we travel alot and this was the best view we have ever had by far.30 sec walk to beach with kiddies park.bitez tiny bus station 1 min walk from hotel, where you can catch dolmus to gumbet for 2 lira50 £1 and run every 5 mins or taxi 10 lira £4ish. rooms spacious and clean 2 bedrooms air con in each room but you pay £30 per wk for each unit.

The tuguy family are the hotel cleaners and are very lovely people.

the bar and restaurant is a great place to relax and resonable prices, where you can relax and take in the views. the pool area is lovely and only 1 or 2 other english families, the other families where dutch and very friendly. bobby and ozzy are the bar staff and lovely lads.

lovely restaurants on the sea front average meal about £10, beer4 lira expensive compared to Altinkum but most restaurants overlook the sea. Blue Moon restaurant is more reasonable and very nice on the street behind the main promanade.

the beach is absolutely gorgeous with hammocks, bean bags and mattresses and in the evening they put candles on the tables on the beach so you can sit under the stars and really relax. its so romantic. there are water sports on the beach.

we booked a boat trip with Alina boat trips.I DO NOT RECOMMEND capacity was 40 and there was at least 80 on that boat,it was awful. but local people told us Liz and Memmets boat trip was definately the best but book early,as we looked at their board and it was full for the next 4 days.

All in all we had a lovely relaxing holiday in the Imba aprtments and will definatley go back. at the end of our wk we got a taxi 15 lira to Bodrum bus station 15mins away and got coach to Altinkum £6 each and 2 hours away to begin the second part of our holiday in the agean apartments................

we stayed at the imba, myself partner and two children aged 5 and 7. the appartment was very clean and the views were the best around. very close to the harbour and only 10 mins to local food and drink and a 20 min dolmus ride to bodrum, quiet enough so the kids get a good sleep.BUT no entertainment whatsoever, didnt even want to put on the football when everyone whanted to watch the game. the beer was'nt cold enough and fizzy drinks for kids came out of a big bottle so was'nt that fizzy. 15 steps down is ther own shop, so i bought cans for the kids from ther at half the price and freezing cold only to be told this was forbidden, even though i was self catering and had bought them from their shop !. they didnt speak to me or my family for the rest of the holiday. it may seem a small thing but if you go to any other place the beer was freezing and soft drinks in a can, got the feeling they couldnt be bothered with much, many other people complained about this and other thing but nothing was done. you have to pay for air conditioning, but be aware this is only in the main bedroom, the second bedroom has'nt got it so kids are hot and sticky all night. overall i would'nt recomend the imba to anyone, but would recomend bitez.

"Imba Apartments review"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Open quote

Just back from 2 weeks at the Imba Apartments. I couldn't find much info about them so hopefully this should be of help. Anyone going here has absolutly nothing to worry about. The location is great. The rooms are big, clean and confortable. The staff are the most friendliest people you could ever hope to meet. Mehmet, the owner in reception, the family who does all the cleaning, (everyday!!) and especially Jack and Ozzy in the bar. Both these guys are wonderful with kids. They speak great English and became great friends.

The complex has its own restraurant and the food is good and reasonably priced. The bar is well stocked with a large beer at 4 lira which is less than £2 and cokes and fantas etc at 3 lira, just over a pound. The guests are mostly Danish and Dutch who all speak great english and are very friendly. However in my 2 weeks we had 2 English families and 1 Irish as well us us Scots. Hi to Alison, Jack and Ryan, Martin and Cath, Luke, Dan and Sam. Also Terrence, Evonne, Matthew, Sarah and Laura.

Jack puts on entertainmet at least once a week. We had a Turkish Night and a late night pool party, both of which were great fun. There are loads of places to eat at night but our favourites were, The Pagoga, The Sutan ( Great waiter called Iden) and Vona's. As I said, if you book the Imba you are sure to have a great time. I am a woman who travels alone with 2 daughters and I can honestly say I never once felt anxious in Bitez. It is a lot more up market then Gumbet and has no big groups of same sex parties here. So it is perfect for those who just want a great holiday and a good nights sleep and the end of a long hot sunny day by the pool or at the beach.

This is our 2nd time to this area, Last year we were at the Pinokyo in Ortakent, but the Imba was better. We are already looking at booking up the Imba again for 2008 and thats the best recomendation I can give. If you are going soon, you will have a great time and have nothing to worry about. C x
