Unver Hotel Reviews

I am a 24 year old woman who is has come through student life and is used to staying in the pits when it comes to general accommodation and holiday destinations. However this hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in- for several reasons. 1. When we arrived, we didn’t get our room until the day after at 1pm, even though we had paid for it. We soon realised that this happened to most people. Hotel residents were still in our room that we had paid for. 2. We had to wait in the lobby area for our room and mice were running up the curtains. 8 other people witnessed this. 3. The lobby area was covered with flies. 4. The reception staff pretends not to speak English but they really do. 5. You cannot see the bottom of the pool as it is clouded with dirt. 6. The hotel staff consists of 4 males who are so sleazy, and at times I felt fearful. 7. The rooms are very basic. We had to do without a toilet for a day as it broke. 8. There is no shower tray- just a hole in the ground for the water and everything in the bathroom gets soaked when showering. 9. Our “balcony” door did not lock so therefore we had to put a chair against it. I personally feel that this place is not fit to live in and I would urge you to book somewhere else.

This was the first time I had been to turkey and I was very wary as I had never been further than spain!The flight wasn't too bad but the bus journey from Bodrum to Marmaris was a killer! Think it was about 4 hours in total! We arrived at the Unver late at night. I had specifically asked for an air conditioned room as I knew the heat in turkey was a lot different to what I was used to, however we were shown to a room right next to reception and we were given a fan. We walked into the room and I could have cried, it was dirty, tiny and the bathroom was a horrible blue mouldy monstrosity! We had a view of a wall and as we both walked onto the "terrace" the door closed behind us and locked us out! Luckily being on the first floor, my husband jumped over the wall and got us back into the room! I immediately complained and asked to be moved to a room with air conditioning.

Thankfully by tea time the next day we were moved to a room on the fourth floor. The room was much nicer and had a view of the pool. The bathroom was new and clean. However, every night we had to have a cold shower as there was never enough hot water!

The breakfast was poor, ham, olives etc, tea that had strewn for hours so was very strong! One day we went on a trip so decided to buy a fry up (this wasn't free!) It was ok but nothing special!

The pool was very small, we did not spend anytime in the hotel other than to get ready & sleep!

The hotel was a gud 20mins walk to the bars at the beach but worth the walk! The turtle bar, bar x, talk of the town are all gud pubs on the beach front. It was lovely to walk along the promenade day & night! Marmaris itself it a fab place, the people are brilliant and you can get some great bargins in the shops if you haggle, they love english money so always offer to pay in stirling! We loved Marmaris that much that we're going back in September 08. I choose the hotel from the excellent reviews this time instead of going for a cheaper hotel, think it'll be worth paying that little bit extra & we are flying to Dalaman this time! Can't wait! 

well, before i went on the holiday i read some review on ther hotel and really wasn't lookin forward to going as the hotel reviews wern't good! the hotel was very basic the room consisted of a shower, toilet, basin 2 single beds (although we asked for a double)it also had a mirror and that was it! we were told it was a bed and breakfast but you only get the breakfast free if you have a turkish breakfast and you have to pay for tea and coffee!!!! the owner glared at you as you walked in if you have got bags as your not allowed to take food and drink in from outside the hotel, and he doesn't speak much english!

the hotel was ok if you just want something basic but i wouldn' stay there again!

everythin else of the holiady was brilliant! everyone there was really nice and friendly! they are changing there name next season to avur hotel so beware!

We are regular travellers to turkey and marmaris and we find the resort lovely and all the people very friendly they would do anything for you.

We decided to book a late deal to marmaris and as we were on a budget we decided on the unver hotel and travelled with goldtrail because they were the cheapest operator.

It was obvious why it was the cheapest, the flight was terrible it was with turkish airline onur air and we didnt have tv's, the meal was turkish and the crew didnt speak hardly any english. We was almost 3 and half hours delay going there. when we arrived at the airport it was impossible to find the reps because they were stood outside rather than in the airport. We had to wait on the coach for 30 mins for the rep to come so we could set off. we stopped for a break and again had to wait for the rep to come back before we could leave again.

Then we arrived at the unver it looks lovely from outside just a small hotel in the armultalan area, an area that we were familiar with. The rooms where very basic the matteresses no thicket than 6cm and 1 pillow each. The wardrobe fitted about 4 tops in it and the bathroom was tiny. The shower had no curtain so everywhere got soaked. The room wasn't cleaned once apart from new towels every day but the bed linen was never changed. The breakfast was kept in the reception area in the sun. The pool was dirty all the time and very small if you dived in you were at the other end.

So we didnt really spend much time at the hotel apart from having a shower, getting ready and sleeping. Luckily our parents were staying at the club excelsior so we spent alot of time there.

The bar and reception staff were friendly enough. But the manager was rude and arrogant and thought he was better than anyone else. we brought some cans of pop and chocolae back from the beach one day and he snatched it off us and told us we wwerent allowed it although their were no signs up.

We never saw the rep either why we was there.

I would definately not recommend the unver to anyone

well were do i start. i went with a few of my girl friends. there were two pairs of twin bed rooms. THE MEN would beg you to come to the bar with them, SLAP your bum, ask u to marry them constantly. But the worst thing is if ur not of white origin they'd ignore you and call you nasty names and constantly make jokes such as there going to jiggy jiggy to the specific person tonight. there was one girl that was of black orign and they made her life hell. ON THE NIGHT BEFORE CHECK OUT they left two bannanas with rude remarks engraved into them OUTSIDE THERE DOOR. she was absoutley devestated and so were the rest of us. These were just a few things that happened. I personally have been put off going to marmaris all together after this kind of tratment. NEVER LET YOUR GIRLS OUT TO MARMARIS ON THERE OWN BELIEVE ME
