"Nice apartments "

I think the reviews added by 'Katty, James & Wolfanger on the 14th June' are fake (especailly as they ALL use a ? in place of the letter i)!! I think they were written by one of the bar staff as the English grammar is very poor too. Anyway, despite this (and some previous reviews about the bar staff being offensive) I found the Xanthos Apartments to be great. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff were friendly and fun. The staff did try their luck with the women, but I took it all in good fun. I think the bar/restaurant are under different management from the hotel itself and possibly it is them who create any bad reviews. The hotel side was great, the rooms were lovely and anything we needed was provided. Yalcin (hotel manager) was always very professional and was not at all letchy like the other staff. I felt completely safe an at home there. I think they need to tell the bar/restaurant staff to relax a bit though. The location was great and overall I have no complaints at all. The facilities are basic, but it is only a 2* and the staff will go out of their way to help you and serve you. I will definitely be returning.

The hotel was basic but clean. Expected to walk into a dive but was pleasantly surprised. Only stay here if you are willing to have relations with the male hotel staff. There is one in particular called Romeo who on average has around 5 girls a night. The staff get a face on them if you do not want to eat and drink in the apartments. Rooms are hit and miss. Electric kept going and the problem wasn't resolved. They play the same 3 songs on repeat day in day out. If you are not prepared to spend £10 on a single drink and dance round a dead dancefloor to trance songs then the staff, in particular NICO, are very rude. Nobody in marmaris seems to know how to get to the apartments and they are at the bottom of a big long poorly lit road. Wouldn't go back if you payed me.

"Xanthos APartments"

Overall Hotel Rating:

Very Good

We stayed at the Apartments in September, we found the actual apartments very basic, but very clean and at the end of the day how much time do you spend in your room !. The entertainment was pretty average but was a good laugh and it was most nights. The pool area is shaded at one side and the pool cold but we could always get a sun bed, The food at the hotel was ok, one of our party got food poisening the day before we came home and there where a couple of others that had been ill too, But I personally found it to be ok. Prices are pretty reasonable but you can get cheaper from round the corner, we found a bar/retaurant called the Irish bar 2 minutes from the Xanthos the the food was half the price

I take back all I said about these apartments in my last review. We were really lookin forward to a great holiday here. The first few weeks were ok but we did notice a big change in the staff. The pressure was on to stay in the hotel to eat. Sarah left and was quickly replaced by Shannon and Sami who usually turned up for work in the clothes they went out in the nite b4 and the worse for wear. We found them to be nasty bits of work so nasty in fact we left and moved to another hotel. The manager did try to get us to stay and sacked both girls for their behaviour but it was to little to late. 3 weeks of these 2 was 2 much for decent people. It wasn't only us who suffered at their hands "hi guys you know who you are we were really glad of ur support and friendship hope to see you soon".We were fed up listenin to the sexual exploits of certain members of staff a far cry from the experience we had in october last year when we found them to be really nice guys. When I told the manager and said I wasn't on holiday to complain I was told "then dont complain". If you ever wondered where the guests on the Jeremy Kyle show go on holiday this is it.

I went on holiday with my son who is twelve it was our first time in Turkey and I was a bit wary of going without my partner but I had no need to worry I was very pleased with the friendly atmosphere and staff made the holiday, they were very funny and "good looking" always kept the kids entertained and very helpful, the rooms were basic but we only used them for showering and sleeping so were not to bothered. It was about 20mins walk to the beach it is more shingle than sand didnt care too much as the hotel had a great outdoor swimming pool, i went self catering although i never cooked in the room as the prices and the food in the hotel were really good. Great holiday for all the family.

"held hostage"

Overall Hotel Rating:

hotel clean but very money grabbing if you dont like being held hostage to eat and drink in the bar avoid this place, first day arriving 5am tired wanted a cup of tea got one, very friendly and charming, 1st day went out " where are you going? please breakfast?" standing in your way to try and prevent you doing what you want, every day was the same until they finally got the hint that it is self catering and we will go and eat and drink where we like. its idiot staff like these that ruin holidays, if you dont mind being hassled and paying over the top for your substandard food then this is fine for you, beware.

Reading some of the other reviews i can am suprised to see so many with ratings of 5, i really suspect they added themselves . As others found if you wanted to go out away from the hotel at night the staff wouldn't give you the time of day. and the bar bill sysytem is the stuipest ever , its easier just to pay your bill when you get your drinks , doesn't give them the chance to addona couple of beers etc!! The room was an ok size but basic, not much else i can really say about it.

"would never stay here again "

Overall Hotel Rating:

Open quote

the rooms were clean and the maid staff were so nice but as for the rest "NEVER AGAIN" the manager and bar staff were nice at the start and helped you to your room .But unless your spending your nights at the hotel paying 25 lira each to have there meals and watch the shows they put on they soon turn rude . im not quite sure what sarah the english girl is doing there but she seams to enjoy flirting with all the blokes that work there playing one off another . im in a wheelchair and not once did they offer to help get me down a very steap slope to leave the hotel. the computer that has internet access was broken 1/2 way through the holiday and they would only let a select few use the laptop again if you face didnt fit you didnt get it . the bloke that sells the jewlery in reception wouldnt take no for an answer . the thomas cook rep left us some money he owed us with them and we asked at least 4 times and they said no money was left in the end they rep used his own money to pay us , i would advise you to pay for everything you have at the time they put all bills in a fishbowl and even the ones you have paid for get put in there so they try and charge you again . there was never enough sun beds for everyone to use so people were setting alarms to put towels out then going back to sleep . we have stayed in marmaris many times and this is the only hotel that we found expencive to use the saftey deposit box at 150 lira and the same for the air coditioning . most only charge 1/2 that amount . we would never go back and woulnt tell anyone else to go there what a rip off
