We found this hotel to be one of the best hotels we have stayed in...the rooms were clean and tidy, linen changed regular, staff were excellent, and the food was fabulous, theres nothing we could fault about this hotel, its peaceful around the pool by day which is what we wanted, and nights have no banging music, I would recommend this hotel to everyone....great value for the money you pay.

We had a nice time in this hotel. Friendly staff and it was clean enough. The breakfast was a traditionally Turkish one, eggs, olives, jams, cheese. Pretty much what you expect in Turkey. The food you pay for is much better, we had a lovely 3 course meal and the dinner time sandwiches and we were very impressed with. Its a good 20 min walk from Hisaronu which we liked as it was a nice walk passed a few bars and gave us a bit of excercise, the buses are always about though if you dont want to walk. It had everything we needed. One down side would be the noise of a few local cockerels, but thats is not something the hotel can control. We would stay there again and so would most of the people we met around the pool.

i would not recommend this hotel to my worst enemies. if we did not put our money over the counter we were ignored.the beds were only suitable for small children and you could not turn around in the room.we will not be retuning to turkey as this has put us off turkey for good.

Reading the previous reviews I find it hard to believe that we are talking about the same premises but we can only go on what we found and how we were treated. With this in mind, the hotel pool area, pool and gardens were clean and well maintained, breakfast is traditional Turkish but O.K. Did we enjoy our stay at the GORKEM HOTEL NO, Were we glad we were only there for one week YES, Would I return NO, Could I recommend this hotel NO. The room was small and not cleaned, staff were not helpful and appeared only interested if you were spending money. The whole experience of staying at this hotel has had a detrimental effect on our views of holidaying in Turkey, so for our next summer break it’s back to the Greek Islands, where basic sometimes it maybe, but friendly it always is.

Our 2nd year at the Gorkem, loved every minute of it and will definately be back. Sadik and his family who run the hotel could not be more friendly. We booked directly with the hotel after last year with Jewel in the Crown and the hotel will arrange a transfer from the airport direct to the hotel.

We stayed in their self catering apartments, the ones in the new block overlooking the pool are very large and spacious with lovely views to the monuntains as well. Plenty of shade around the pool if you need it from the Oleander trees and lovely gardens. We had no problems getting sundbeds etc. Traditional Turkish Breakfact (Eggs, honey, bread, olives, watermelon) from 8-10am overlooking the pool, again with views of the mountains.
Food in restaurant excellent and good value, free pool table kept kids (and husbands) amused in long running games of killer pool with others in the hotel.

Loads to do in the area, book trips direct with the tour operators in Hisoranu rather than travel reps as it is a lot cheaper ( we used Evergreen tours for Popeye boat trips which are smaller, more comfortable and quieter boats than the bigger ones which can get noisy after a while - they also will put the sails up for an hour of sailing, Karacay Tours for Jeep Safari - great fun, take water pistols or bottles of water to get your own back on local kids, some of whom use hosepipes!!)

Best trip was the Water shuttle to Butterfly Valley from Olu deniz beach, costs 10lire each and boats leave 9am, 11am 1pm, last boat from the valley is at 5pm but gets very crowded. This will give you as much time as you need to relax in stunning scenery and make the climb to the waterfall - organised trips only give you about an hour on the beach so use the shuttle and you have all day. Lots of hippies, good vine covered cafe great chilled atmosphere.

We love the Gorkem and all its stafff, can't wait for next year.

we recently went to turkey for the second year running but we stayed a bit higher up this time in ovacik.we stayed at the hotel gorkem and found it to be pleasant. there were nhot a lot of reviews on the hotel and we were a bit apprehensive abgout what the accommodation would be like but we had no need to be. the hotel was clean but basic and we were very satisfied with the cleaners who changed towels and bed sheets regularly. the staff were not extremely friendly but were fine enough.

we ate at the hotel twice and had quite good meals for reasonable prices. we stayed at the hotel a few days round the pool which was nice. the pool is of a medium size and was very clean. if you go to turkey you must visit hisaronu which is about a 30/35 minute walk from the gorkem hotel but there are a lot of shops and restaraunts to stop at along the way we did this nearly every day but sometimes we got a taxi. there are many good restaraunts in the town and the people are very friendly. if you can afford try and go to olu deniz because the restaraunts are great down there and they even have big screens in various restaraunts if there is something you desperately want to watch on tv. the beach there is great too.

i would recommend the gorkem hotel for someone who wants a pleasant place to stay but is not expecting too much.

We stayed in the Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis. The rooms are incredibly small and the very thin doors mean that there is constent noise from the commings and goings from other rooms. The Pool is too small to support the number of guests and all the sun loungers are taken by very early in the morning.
The Hotel charges extra for the Air Conditioning and will also charge an additional £10 to keep your room past 12:00 on the day of your departure.
Prices in the Hotel bar and restaurant are comparible with prices in the UK.

The resort itself is a far cry from three years ago and you will now be hasseled to enter every restaurant, bar or shoe shine vendor you pass. Again prices are similar to the UK we paid £3.00 for a local vodka and cola.

after looking at many holiday review sites looking for the gorkem hotel and does not feature on any. so thought i would write a review to let everyone no how good it was!!!

this was first visit to turkey my friend had been previous year and stayed in hisaronu. just wanted a hotel that was quite so that we could have a sunbathing week!!booked it at the last minute and travel agents came up with this hotel.
arrived at 5.30am(not to keen on the night flights!!)was greeted at reception by a member of staff who was waiting for us and was shown to our rooms. rooms basic just to single beds and bathroom with balcony but always very clean, beds made every day.

the hotel is a family run business and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. has a medium sized swimming pool with sun beds and never had a problem gettin one. we went bed and breakfast and breakfast was typical turkish style. the meals were really nice had lunch their nearly everyday and had a couple of evening meals all to very high standard and very reasonable price. the drinks were what they charge everywhere apart from their measures of spirits were very generous!!!

Had a belly dancing night where meal and entertainment was included for 10 pounds!!!with free bottle of wine between two people.

we ate out a few times in hisaronu as we mainly used to go their at night. went to a bar called heads on tails most of the time always had a really good night and a good laugh!!all male bar staff!!!they used to get up on the bar dancing u could also join in which melissa did on several occassions!!!

we used to get the dolmus in every night which took about five minutes and the last one back to ovacik was at 1.00am.the hotel is about a five minute walk from the main road.

didnt do much apart from sunbathing!!!did go on the 12 island cruise which was a good day cost about 14pounds but this included lunch and all drinks including beer and wine so a good buy if want to drink all day!!!

would advise anyone to go to the gorkem hotel was the best holiday that i have had!!!!
